Remember Franklin is suspended for Round 1 and who is Bass? Has not played any trial games, must be a relative!

Forgot about Franklin, so he will go to my bench, i think his in for a big year so i plan to keep him.

Bass is a ruckmen on the Power list don't expect him to play but his the lowest valued ruckmen in the game, i expect my other 3 ruckmen will play the majority of the year.

Whufc, bit of a risk with your rookies up forward? Gumbleton, Dea, Davis and Stewart. Have you thought about Hitchcock?

It's a nice team overall, don't get me wrong. Just that area stood out to me.

I reckon monty is OTM in regards to Hitchcock being this year's version of Wade Thompson. Buyer beware.

I have read the Thompson-Hitchcock link elsewhere too but I think it's just drawing a connection because they both play for Port Adelaide. It's as though playing for Port Adelaide makes a rookie more risky a pick. Yet, I am sure the likes of Banner, Trengove, Stewart and Lobbe are scattered around lots of teams.

Unless mOnty has a crystal ball I don't see how he can predict Hitchcock is any more likely to be dropped after 2 games than any other rookie (the likes of Martin and Barlow excluded). I think Hitchcock has better credentials than Thompson did this time last year. Still a risk of course.

REB, what are your thoughts on Podsiadly?

Not many rookie options up forward. I'd be wary of any of Rockliff, Podsiadly, Taylor and Hitchcock playing minimum games for the year.

If you have Drew Petrie you may need to reconsider!

Pods will get games as Bomber likes the three talls set up and it has been used in every Cat pre-season game so far. Remember that with Pods, Rockliff, Gumbleton and yes Hitchock are never going to be keepers this season, you are just hoping that these guys can get half a dozen games minimum so you can upgrade them for a premium who has bottomed out. I disagree with the Q man saying that Rockliff is a big risk as I reckon he will kick on this season. He is basically fighting with players such as Albert Proud for a spot. Keeping in mind of course that the Lions have let Corrie and Hooper go in the last couple of years and I don't see players such as Raines to be put in the forward line. I reckon Rockliff is cherry ripe and I've selected him ahead of Hitchcock, Dennis-Lane and Gumby.

Watts is injured and Davis won't get many games. Keep away I say.

There'd be a number of people who factored him in because of MPP eligibility.

Yes, all I want is the first 5-6 games and then I don't care what happens to them. I am still toying with the idea of 3 rookies up forward because I think there's 5-6 who could get those early games. There's no great options from the rookies until mid-pricer territory $260K+ and then you have to cut back somewhere else.

We're knackered if he is. Personally, I don't rate him at all, but I hope he makes me eat my words.

Pods is there to supplement existing players not replace our emerging power forward. Pods doesn't have to be a gun from an SC/DT point of view. If he contributes his value to the team and your squad will be worth the while but don't expect Pods to replace Tommahawk as it isn't going to happen.

Tippet is the better option. Cheaper and with a much greater upside. I think that MPP will become a greater factor in the second half of the season than it will be during the iniital squad selection.
