At least you did not try say he owes cricket fees like you did with another player!

Cricket fees, or club membership????

Best you stick to worrying about Hope Valley, or is it Central united (as you seem to know alot)

You are welcome to check our books any day mate. One person gets paid, the coach, if he's parting with his money then that's his perogative.

I love that one thats what happens at all amatuer soccer clubs including a big club in the North.
president comment. "we pay our coach 10k if he chooses to spend all that back on players well that his choice, not the clubs"

Love amatuer sport these days.

10K, get real mate, not even half. Here's our 15 to 20 best players or thereabouts.
Steve Taylor: Junior life member, doesn't get paid.
Todd Bond: Junior life member, doesn't get paid.
Chris James: Junior life member, doesn't get paid.
Steve Fairhurst: Junior life member, doesn't get paid.
Michael Taylor: 16 y.o, Junior life member, doesn't get paid.
Dwayne Nisbet: Junior life member, doesn't get paid.
Andrew Mathews: Junior life member, doesn;t get paid.
Dave Hanley: Son of a long term club footballer, doesn't get paid.
Josh Considine: Great mates with Steve Taylor, doesn't get paid.
Aaron Anderson: Great mates with Josh, doesn't get paid.
Tom Jenkins: 19 y.o that lacks dedication at times but has lots of talent, doesn't get paid.
Tim Macartney: Junior life member, doesn't get paid.
Levi Hudson: 16 y.o has always played at Smithfield, doesn't get paid.
Daniel Kerr: 17 y.o Junior Life member, doesn't get paid.
Matthew Stewart: Junior life member, doesn't get paid.
Robert Abdulla: Good mates with the younger group, doesn't get paid.
Martin Gare: Loves playing with Sharkey, doesn't get paid.

I've probably missed a few.

We pay in cans of coke. Im sure Smithfield are the same. There are also incentives to those who play well, but pretty certain all of that money heads straight back over the bar ;)

We have best player incentives, if they haven't paid their rego, they wont get their award though.

Yep same. Some people find it hard to believe that a club like yours or mine, that players 'want' to play there! Maybe they should look at the culture of their club and why a div 5-6-7 club needs to pay to get decent players to come there.

Has been training, not sure if a clearance has come through yet, he would fit into the starting group I'd imagine. Played at Central United last season, I wouldn't think he was getting too much out there.

You just have to stick around for an hour or so after training and see the mateship to see why they like being out there, a very young group and a good laugh.

Played some A grade at Salisbury North with the Joss in 2008. Then went to Gawler Centrals at the start of the 2009 season, left there and went back to Salisbury North and after a few rounds went and finished the season at Central United.

Talented player and will go alright in Division 5!

Yes, he seems pretty skilled and fit, I think Joss coached him at under 18 level, Joss has a very positive affect on those around him.

I'm starting to get the impression they do more harm than good. What's the point of trying to work on game plans with only a third of the side playing. We've copped a few injuries in our trials this season, a couple completely unnecessary.

with us i think its just to get a couple of runs under the belt, not so much strictly adhering to a game plan of sort. Of course mick our coach wants us to play close to the standard we'd like to set during the season but he knows when you're missing half a dozen key players it makes it hard.
