Dont rate Lokan. Spends too much time trash talking and more often than not gets made to look stupid if hes in defence. Forward line or nothing at all for me.

Lokan should get nowhere near the captaincy of a club like Port Adelaide. Easily distracted and very undisciplined.

I think our defense will struggle at times but you need to kick goals to win and I'd have him up front.

Fair call mate, I'd agree with that.

Heads of agreement I think it was, or at least a verbal agreement to play if he could get out of his contract.

Unusual to appoint a bloke who went to the senior coach and said he wants out.
It's all the SANFL's fault.

The Port Adelaide Magpies Football Club are extremely pleased to announce our leadership group of the 2010 season.

After a thorough process which has involved extensive analysis both internally and externally, we are excited in announcing James Meiklejohn as the captain of the club for Season 2010.

Jimmie is better than every single player down your way, so how about u button it.
Ridiculous post.

The only reason why another club didnt sign Jimmy was because port wouldnt release him from his contract and said if you leave you can play Ammos . everyone knows he wanted to go with Daniel Elstone.

Plus he was going to Sturt before they signed Giles, he had a verbal agreement with the Perth Footy Club apparently and he was going to Central, the club he supposedly wanted to play for !!

Don't forget he did a pre-season with Central Broken Hill, NT Thunder and the Southport Sharks before heading overseas to shop himself around the Amsterdam ARFL.

How is it ridiculous?? My point is that there was once a day when Port Adelaide players who tried to leave would have been kicked out the door - now they are made captain.

I can cope with you blokes having a go at us - hopefully you can cope with supporters from other Clubs having observations of yours.... Sorry if the truth hurts fellas.

Port point blank refused to release him from his final year. How hard is that to understand?

Wrong, Port would have let him go had they been compensated adequately.

true, but i think the part a few port people are missing is that he really really really wanted to leave port and had they cleared him he would have walked without a second thought, now he is the leader of your club in it's most crucial year in history.

Of course, but the price was set so ridiculously high that no one could afford it.
