Depends where he gets played mate. I think he needs to play across half forward and use his smarts as opposed to being lumbered with a player to watch, if he was in our back half.

I think our defense will struggle at times but you need to kick goals to win and I'd have him up front.

The Port Adelaide Magpies Football Club are extremely pleased to announce our leadership group of the 2010 season.

After a thorough process which has involved extensive analysis both internally and externally, we are excited in announcing James Meiklejohn as the captain of the club for Season 2010.

James’s leadership qualities have emerged over the summer and he has played a major role in the rapid development and confidence in our young list.

James will be supported by three vice captains : Steve Summerton, Matthew Lokan and Daniel Lees, all of whom embrace and demonstrate the type of leadership, culture and respect we are developing as a club.

The only reason why another club didnt sign Jimmy was because port wouldnt release him from his contract and said if you leave you can play Ammos . everyone knows he wanted to go with Daniel Elstone.

How is it ridiculous?? My point is that there was once a day when Port Adelaide players who tried to leave would have been kicked out the door - now they are made captain.

true, but i think the part a few port people are missing is that he really really really wanted to leave port and had they cleared him he would have walked without a second thought, now he is the leader of your club in it's most crucial year in history.
