all year he has been getting it done with the new pill taking 28wkts at 16.5 and yesterday shown what chasing a small total in a final is all about making 28 runs off 114 deliveries showing courage and determination in wearing down the opposition and giving his side the best chance of winning a sec1 grand final.

fantastic year Brucey and i hope you get a premiership Sunday and a well deserved Hewitt Medal in a few weeks...

He's a very good cricketer isnt he, with both bat and ball

Handy player but won't go near Hewett Medal. Take the 9 wickets he got out of the game against WYC and it only leaves 19 wickets. He will probably only poll 2 votes in that game anyway with Cheeky making 130 runs for the game. A couple of decent knocks and 19 wickets won't get you there especially when Cheek will poll more votes and Lourens will get some too.

Rowe is the one for me. Hopkins around the mark as usual.

So Lourens used to play for Bays? Anyone know the incentive for him to go to Coro?

Can not say much for the B's though didnt have the end to the season they were lookin for losing to Keswick

bad luck, i thought you guys would've got up

yeah looks like stacking the B grade dosen't always work. Something to look at next year maybe with us finishing bottom and the B's making the finals.....

Stacking the B grade? I can think of only 2 players who should be in the A's and couldn't because of work commitments.

There were a few guys that should of played A's more this season from the B's team on the weekend (simon, barry, ox) and Lindsay and Terry should of had more control over selection than they did during the season. At least at the ASCA's more successful teams the focus is their A grade making finals or at least it looks like it.

Meh too hard to quote

Ox can't play 75 overs, he struggles through 60.
Simon has work commitments, which is understandable.
Baz wasn't picked.

This is Lourens first year at Coro, after bein at the Bays for the last couple.

He lives up in the valley, has his family business up in the valley, and i believed those were the two biggest factors in him moving to Coro. Also, the fact that he wanted the new ball and wanted to bowl more then he did at ANA was part of the decison aswell i believe AF

Well done to the bays and Coro for making the GF it should be a good game between two good sides.

Simply Daniel Rowe was the difference between us winning and losing. 5/54 off about 23 overs and 82* shows how much one person can influence a game. Pope was also very good with the bat for the bays as he just occupied the crease for a really good length of time. O'Malley came out and rode his luck and got away with it. His first ball was literally inches away from ending the game, should the catch have been held, but it fell over the boundary and the rest is now history.

It was most certainly the most intense game of cricket i have ever been involved in. The bowling from both sides was unbelievably good for the majority of both days. Both sides were down and out at certain stages of the game and both recovered from seemingly impossible positions.

If Coro can stop Rowe and Basso with the bat they will win, if they don't i think the bays could win easily.

Just looking at the ladder, and its official that SR have lost 6 points for the non attendance to 3 meetings and have now finished bottom of section 1, and 2nd bottom of section 2.

I would assume now, that Warradale will be promoted if they win this week against a strong Keswick B grade, and maybe even if they lose the GF as they have finished top and made it to the GF.

surely warradale have to win for them to go up. We made 4 grand finals in 5 years but never went up for being runners up.

All of this would depend on what happens with Westminster i would think Sarge if they go then someone will come up and I think that may be Warradale, although i have heard they already have a letter ready, ala Panorama, saying they are too old etc. South Road may be saved by Westminster leaving. If Keswick's B Grade win then i would think South Road would stay in section 1 regardless.

Commiserations to the Centres and Keswick, Keswick made some bold selections and they didnt pay off. Going on what Westmisnster were saying in our last game, they dont even know whats happening. Unless they get some assistance from the school player wise, they cant play ATCA because of the 2 team minimum, and they struggle to field a B grade at the best of times.

Don't think ATCA has a two team minumun rule. Unley Old Scholars started a team up this year and have only 1 side.

Yeah? That's pretty rough. IMO, I'd like to see a team relegated each year and a new team brought up where it makes sense to. 2 reasons:
1. it should provide even more incentive to field your best possible section 1 team every week
2. doing the "wrong thing" as a club (loss of points for fines/no attendance etc) has a real consequence

The only caveat I see is if the section 2 side is strong enough to play section 1 cricket. As for this year, South Road were very competitive and going by their pure cricket ability, probably deserve to stay up. But, IMO, it shouldn't just be about that.

If Warradale aren't keen, I reckon Belair would be worthy despite finishing 4th. What's the worst that happens? They finish bottom and they go back down...

No chance of them gettin any support from the school bazza. Since im pinching all the decent ones not tied to any district club and bringing them to the ramblers!! At last count there was 7 actual old scholars from westminster playing for the ramblers with another 2 keen to come out next season. Not sure how many 'old scholars' are at wos but i dont think there would be as many as at the ramblers.
