Not at all. They've won exactly one session.

They blew it on day one when they let Vic out of the bag.

Yeah I said that as well but the tide began turn in the second session so hardly a sustained period of dominance by the Bulls.

VI 305
QL 257
VI 8/591 DEC
QL 182

VI win by 457 runs

WADE 96 rescued VI on day 1
BROAD 82 rescued QL day 2
HUSSEY 168 2nd innings in quick time finished off QL
BOYCE 6/181 great start to his career

QL 182 today
CARSELDINE 75 well don[will he retire ?]
HARTLEY 29* typical defiant gutsy innings by a great competitor
QL were 2/107 b4 a collapse
MCGAIN 4/70
HASTINGS 3/25 and on a hatrick next SS game he plays !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Player of the final WADE for his 96
Agree his 96 was less than HUSSEYs 168, but WADES runs were made when the VIcs were almost down and out

Good that VI bowled them out, its a sweeter feeling
Best team in the comp wins again

WHITE, HUSSEY and SHIPPERD can now catch thier flight and tell Dirk and Brad all about it

Wade once again shows his class, setting up the game with his 96 on day 1. Good sign to show he can score runs under pressure, His keeping was outstanding. The closest thing you can get to a Test Match is a 5 day Shield final. Wade scored a 70 last year and a match winning 96 this year. Signs are good for his future.

Three years a 'keeper I rate (Clingleffer) made 150 + in a shield final.... By then end of next season was gone..

Don't disagree with what you say about Wade, I reckon he is next in line now, but as i said a 'keeper making runs in a shield final doesn't count for much if you go by Clingleffer's experience
Let that be a lesson to you Port, no one beats the Bays five times in a row in a GF and gets away with it!!!

They are doing it for Brad and Dirk
Lead of 202

HOPES injured out for several weeks

Those magnificent Vics are well on the way to a SS victory

not sure why you keep bring dirk into it - when he retired from the victorian first class team he wasnt playing in their shield matches he had been dropped (wright j pattinson and hastings were the favoured pace trio).

Was not dropped! He was coming back from an injury and was not fit enough for four day cricket, but was fit enough for one day cricket!

nannes only palyed 1 shield match all season which was victorias fist shield match - he was clearly not in victorias plans for 4 day cricket and would not have played the final - he was fit most of the season as he played most of the one day games and t20 matches.

NANNES played game 1 this season
NANNES took the most wickets in the VI SS final win 2008/2009
With HARWOOD out for the season
SIDDLE injured
MCKAY required by AU on occasions
You would think Dirk was a required player this season

if he was so required why did they never play him?

because they they had wright d pattinson j pattinson and hastings for most tehseason in shield cricket - just shows how good the victorian squad really is

There is no doubt if NANNES declared himself available for the SS team he would have been selected
Who knows
Dirk might have committed himself to the Indian Pretenders League and was out of favour

Now as it stands Brad and Dirk missed out on a part of history
They will have heavier wallets and thats thier choices

One thing I treasure in my 35 years of playing cricket are the premierships and the comradership.
That can never be forgotten and taken away from me
Money is spent and gone
