I'll admit I've made criticisms of Clarke in the past but full credit to him for that knock with all the scrutiny he's been under and the position we were in.

well played michael clarke...ive probably criticised him for being too selfish in the past but his knock in this test has been sensational!

Good to see people finally waking up to how good a player Clarke is, and has been for Australia. Better late than never I guess.

Noticed he shook both Clarke's and North's hands. Good sport, good to see.

Marcus North and Michael Clarke, fantastic today, great to watch! I guess Steve Smiths gonna to have to wait longer for a debut and good to see Pup forgot about he personal life and do what he does best, make runs for Australia. Great work from Dougie, Harris and Johnson aswell and Dan Vettori carrying NZ again... I love the bloke but he needs some support.

Has a personal best of 7/87 v Australia but that was a long time ago

NZ 7 for 148, M. Guptill out for 30 off 122 balls (a bit slow). Dougie has 4 for 24 and a big chance for 5!

Johnson to Southee
Southee swishes outside off stump and is caught behind
Southee stands his ground
A referral
Replays show Southee missed the ball by about 3 inches
Replays show Haddin hardly got excited
Replays conclusively show no hot spot on Southees bat
Replays show Southees foot slid in the crease and would have made the noise heard
Commentators agree in unison that Southee is not out

Southee still given out

Dougie takes his 5th wicket. He kisses the VB logo on his shirt instead of the coat of arms. :D
