I reckon this point was raised in an earlier meeting, & was decided that cos tickets were impossible to get, that cricket would be played on the test weekend this year & to be reviewed next year.

Oh well, I haven't played for a while and don't get involved in the decisions of the club anymore... We would look silly though if our Bs do forfeit this week..

why did your delegate vote to play then.... cant blame the pres.... I presume it would be lack of communication between the delegate and the general feeling of the group of players.... at these meetings some of you are like a bunch of sheep.... if one puts up there hand then we all follow....fair dinkum!!!

Like I said Grub, its just my opinion and not that of the players/captain/Pres of the Wayback CC and for all I know they maybe very happy to play this weekend.. All I know is that there are at least 8 blokes going over which must have an impact on whether Waybacks get 2 sides on the park..

I can assure you we will field two teams this weekend and 90% of our playing list is keen to play this weekend. Our president was echoing the views of his team at the meeting and we have always been keen to play as much cricket in the season as we can, kind of the reason we play the game, because we want to!!!!

Could not have said that better myself WAD, good job, well done. If you can't communicate with your President/Commitee then your club is not going to go so well is it!!!

WAD, give my congrats to both the Frost boys too, they both bowled very well on Sat. If available they WILL be picked for the next match. Very impressed.

Thanks bystander. both frost boys doing very well for us this year and enjoying it immensely. Looking forward to them maturing into very good cricketers. Bassco and Corey both coming along very well this season. The whole of both teams that travelled to kimba should be first picked, regardless of the result. Reward the lads that do the hard yards to represent us away from home, they may not all be first selected but they put their hands up and respect the competition, and that in turn should be respected.

Was present at one of our local watering holes this evening when an exited Charlton captain recieved an interesting phone call. Obviously the money offered to Rhino wasn't enough to keep him at Tassies and Charlton seem to DEFINATLY have a new recruit. Well, as definatly as it gets with Rhino. :? Ash assures me Rainbow will keep him on the straight and narrow   Should be a handy signing if he does indeed play.

bystander... SES and LS were the only ones to vote for no cricket this weekend!!!!

I heard the MR boys are far from impressed, only rumour tho & you know what they're like.
You're right Grub, ONLY 2/6 clubs didn't want to play this weekend!

Having spoken to a few of the members/players, I don't think the Club is going to go out of it's way and buy a bunch of flowers for these guys and attach an "all the best" card. Personally I definitley, don't have any problems with Watho going to BFC. He came to us for a year, helped us enormously, played well and got a premiership medallion for his efforts. Good bloke to go with it. The two Troys have been part of Marble Range for many years, both getting on a little bit in terms of their playing careers and have shared in some of the spoils earnt by the team(s) over the years besides their personal achievements. If they were going to go it would have to be now otherwise too late. So once again, personally I don't have any huge issues with the fact that they will leave us, bar one. That is that they go, help a struggling club, play well, have fun and leave us alone. What I mean by that is that it is just them that go and they don't try and take any other players with them. 3 current players from the one club is enough and they should go and raid some others, particularly neighbouring leagues.
Whilst many readers/supporters from other Lincoln clubs might rub their hands together and say stiff s**t Marble Range cos they see it as weakening a pretty strong club and therfore giving themselves a better chance at a premiership.
On that point I can't see any benefit whatsoever in BFC taking players from another Club you would have to say is struggling to a degree in Tasmans. I hope they leave them alone. As I say GFFL players should be who they are targetting
Any wholesale targetting and raiding of our players and I dare say you would be right - we would be far from impressed, but as for the 3 mentioned, go and good luck (my personal thought only- there may be some who feel a bit stronger)

And they will, but also those that had a GENUINE reason for being unavailable will be looked at too!

Steiger, I agree fully that we shouldn't target MR players. I voiced my opinion regarding this when Ricky DePledge got the Bostons job. I think nearly half of Tasmans got letters and I also respected Roger for not doing it when he left us to go to Ramblers. I have only spoken with one player from MR and I knew before last year had finished he wasn't going to play with MR in 2007. I will always have the upmost respect for MR and the people in it. I'd hope our decision to help the game in PL is respected as well.

Couldn't agree more scoob! Funny how when it was mentioned to the other captains they agreed to having the week off. Ash Gray, Sammy Newman, Ben Smith and Craig Reidy all agreed to the week off yet some of their delegates have voted to play!!

I'm looking forward to playing now scoob knowing that you won't be at full strength so I can score some big runs!! Hope we can finish early to get to pub to see the last session on the TV. I know we are down a few players as well so it will be a b grade game anyway.

My apologies to Ash Gray and the whole henderson shield team that went to Kimba last week for not being able to play when I was selected. I spent friday and the weekend on the lounge with a swollen foot and after a trip to the hospital on monday, I have been diagnosed with a deep vein thrombosis in my right leg and have been put on blood thinning medication for life.

Congrats to Ash for his superb 96 and I'm sure it won't be long until he cracks the three figures.

Hope all the guys going to the test can drown out the Barmy Army chants and fire the aussies up for another victory. Adelaide oval will once again will be a picture and the pitch will be a belter. I still have nightmares of watching the Indians Dravid and Laxman in a 300 run stand 3 years ago on a 38 degree day. Hope that doesn't happen this test or ever again.

Steiger,

Must say would be disappointed if people of the MR club didn't see the big picture in what is trying to be achieved. If there attitude is going to be nasty makes me re - think leaving my two boys at MR to play colts, will they be treated wrongly because of my actions. I Hope not.

I have spoken to 2 players from the Gary, one the same as Panther and the other is ex Bostons (who has stated he is going to Pt Neil) so he should be approached and that will be as far as my contact with MR goes and have stated that to the Tigers. Was aware of how many letters went to Rangers but that was before any decisions I have made were final.

I can tell you the Tigers are gunning for every Pt Lincoln based GFFL player possible as is every other team in Lincoln.
