First commercial I've seen by the SANFL that doesn't look like it's been made by 5-year-olds. I think it's good.

liked it but would liked it to have finished off with some action on the field with footy's etc...hard hits, tackles, that sorta stuff.

I'm relieved that it's not crass and embarrassing, and the tribal theme is a really good idea but I think it runs the risk of being unclear. If you weren't a SANFL fan you may not know what this ad is for. It could be an ad for a sports drink or an aftershave. SANFL only gets a small mention in the graphic right at the end. I'm thankful there aren't shots of kids eating pies and I'm all for understatement but I just wonder if it ends up being a little vague.

After viewing it a few more times whilst I think it's a great add production wise I agree with nickname.
We probably enjoy it and associate with it but it shouldn't be aimed at us, it should be aimed at those fringe supporters to come more regularly.
Mind you the gorilla banging the drums was a huge hut for Cadbury so who knows?

What I find most interesting is the SANFL also used 'Your Tribe is Calling' in 2007 yet the 2007 ad and this year's ads are complete opposites.

Two great points for the add. Firstly it looks great. Secondly it cleverly shows people the status of the league at present.

If the SANFL really wanted to, they could re-use the popular 2007/2008 ads, it'll be a good mix of ads catering for different audiences (2007 new fans, 2008 old fans, 2010 females)
