how long ago we talkin here skywalker? and what grade? he is only about 5'10" but does where glasses.

our 'club' is playing finals, but unfortunately its the wrong two teams... our Cs and Ds are playing finals (grade 6 and 8 ) but our As and Bs missed out.

Yeah was a while ago... if it is him, nice enough bloke to talk to. He may have played in Church League for a season or so, bout 8 years ago or so.

Salisbury West obviously start as short favs you would imagine, Brahma carry the under dog tag of still not having beaten a top 4 side this season but i think BL might shock some people this weekend, SW would want to be switched on, can almost sniff an upset on the cards..

OTH same as SW gotta start favs, solid year, well earnt 2nd place but RC are running hot at the moment and have a very strong bowling attack with Feltus and Figallo firing with the new ball makes for tough batting. However like i've said before batting still looks brittle. Round 1 RC had this game on toast chasing 129 but died dismally to fall 30 odd short and then the One dayer was cancelled from heat.

Should be a cracker weekend alround i would say :D

Im not sure that should be a problem, if a clubs D grade is as good as another A grade then its fine but the problem comes about when groups of players move to a lower grade side or new teams come in i always liked the promotion relegation system as it will always give a team a chance

Well it is a problem, Two Wells, Grade 1 last season, Grade 6 this season, 16 points clear on top. There are more examples that I'm not going into, the relegation/promotion system is showing glitches, our C's have been hopeless the last couple of seasons and have had to stay in Grade 5 whilst A grade teams below them flog their opponents and our kids are subject to grade 1 quality bowlers zipping balls around their ears and loving it.

i doubt that any grade 1 players are in that side LM

Adam Ellis is a very capable player there mate, pretty sharp with the ball and can bat. He'd be the fastest bowler in Grade 2 this season if he played there, and he can move it around.

Does it make a difference if they are coming back from a different comp ie Suburban?

It wouldn't make a difference if they had been playing on Saturn, or not playing at all. Once you lose pretty much a whole side and opt to go down 4 grades. it takes 1 year per grade you went down before you can represent that team again, fair rule IMO.

So they can ask to go to div 3-4 and we can play again, this rule def has pros and cons i mean the players that wanted to stick around got screwed and had to go elsewhere or just stopped playing all together.

Yes, I'm sure it would be put to a vote and it would get passed, as I said before, it's usually clubs wanting to sandbag and move down the grades.

Not reall just thinking the wheels might be falling off a tad for westies, a few players looking for individual accolades and so forth, Brahama do have the individual talent to cause an upset a 100 from Sibbick could be enough..

we do have form of winning A Grade finals that we shouldn't 2000/01 springs to mind - knocked off Salisbury North who only lost 1 game all year in the semi, then beat "Cashed Up Hill" when we were 8/70 chasing 200 in the GF (side note - we sat under the trees next to the clubrooms that day ;) )

Perhaps History to repeat - DESTINY II :D

I think the plan is for the top 7 to actually ALL score runs for once, not just Sibs

definitely not him if the guy you're talking about has played churches... Craig has only ever played at CCC, I believe he just finished his 10th (or 11th) consecutive season of seniors there.

Obviously thats the plan but a player of Sibs quality can win the game of his own bat.
