i guess over the past 3 seasons you would think so, but that means nothing now. we have lots of new players and i after a very solid pre-season so were just hoping to win enough games to make finals.. however with inclusions that elizabeth have had and blodge looking good... i personally think this will be the tightest D5 in recent years.... im going to sit on the fence and say evryones a chance...

I'm with you wood. Gonna be very tight. How is your B grade looking? Got no doubt they will be the team to beat again!

its hard to say, we wont really know til rnd 1, new players and such but i reckon they'll be strong (i hope haha)

Not sure what the standard is really like at this level but I've been really impressed with the standard of the majority of the players at Elizabeth. Can see the eagles being very strong this year. Wouldn't have thought there would be too many sides capable of beating them this year.

If only I could complete a couple of laps without passing out with exhaustion I might be a chance of pushing for selection....

Should be pretty one sided but good hit out none the less

Devo we're not going to paringa, as if we carn't get accomodation what could possibly gonig on there this time of year? But still good we get to play another trial. It will be good to play greenies except this time lets hope we play on LJ Lewis Reserve, instead of the cow paddock that is Edward Smith Reserve. It was in terrible condition when we played there year last you could'nt even run through the centre.

Thought I would have a crack

25/10 - Plympton - 2 prelims in a row means they can play at this level
3/1 - Adelaide Lutheran - always go well when they come down plus massive injection of players
35/10 - Elizabeth - have picked up massive recruits from South Gawler & Big Ben returning
4/1 - Hope Valley - quality and stable side which should improve again from last year
5/1 - Brahma Lodge - picked up a lot of guys from Salisbury West which has improved the depth although lack of a ruckman may hurt as the season unfolds
7/1 - Smithfield - quality player as coach who has bought some talent with him
7/1 - Hectorville - quality side who providing can add to theri squad will be around the mark
10/1 - North Haven - very quite and have not set the recruiting stakes on fire as yet
10/1 - Rosewater - have lost a third side which could mean loss of depth may be a dark horse
20/1 - Blackfriars - think they may struggle have lost some good players and not sure if recruiting is of the same extent as a lot of the other clubs - will be very competitve though

We've got a few new guys out this season and some players back from Districts and what not. Saw Matt Rowlands filling a clearance form out in tues after playing last season at birdwood, which is a positive, good to have him back.

So you're not sure what the standard is like, but you're pretty sure no one will be capable of beating you?? WTF? Big jump from 7th to 1st boozehound.
Maybe you should leave your alleged controversy for the pages of the footy budget and maybe look at updating what club you play for on your profile...

Here's some teams (in no particular order) capable of beating you:
Plympton
Adel Luth
Brahma Lodge
Hope Valley
Rosewater
Blackfriars OS
Smithfield
North Haven
Hectorville

Elizabeth should be unbeatable, but you could push for selection if you could run a couple of laps in one go??? Wow-wa-wee-wa. You must be elite. :)

Oh poor SD and LB did I offend u... Oh well if you had an adequate level of comprehension skills you would know that I said they would be strong (not unbeatable) and that there wouldn't be too many sides (indicating that there may be a couple) capable of beating them. Of course any side can win on their day however I gave u more credit than u deserved in assuming you would understand I'm talking both sides playing at their best. Looks like another long year of sensitive little girls on the forum....

Funny long year? :?

How about painfully long year when you have to endure such petty name calling from people that play in your own division.

Smarten up fellas - and keep it clean and UNPERSONAL.

Please. :D
