No, I don't think I could compare Johnson with Davidson at this time of his career. Johnson's goty a long way to go to equal Davo.

AU is blessed to have these 3 fantastic entertainers

Just heard Peter George has been called up to the Test squad as cover for Ryan Harris!?!
Great effort by big Pidge but is he ready? Will be an outstanding experience for the lad regardless of whether he gets a game or not.

I'd like to see Harris get over his niggle and get a test match. A fine player.

Reckon he might get unlucky though, with the worries about his fitness. It's been an ongoing career issue for him so wouldn't be surprised to see the boring but seemingly durable McKay get another guernsey.

Shane Watson out injured, Phil Hughes is his replacement.

Marcus North remains in the team, Ryan Harris passed a fitness test.

In the last 19 tests against New Zealand, Australia has won 13 and drawn 6 New Zealand 0 :D

Hughes still has massive flaws in his game, not up to it at this stage IMO

One thing I was taught early on was not to play the cut shot early in your innings, I know it gets him plenty of runs but it also gets him plenty of times as well...

WATSON injured
That might affect the bowling depth
HARRIS has yet to be tested in a longer game, he might struggle in later spells with a lack of 4 day games this summer
I would play GEORGE not HARRIS as we need bowlers to go the distance
I can see MJ doing a lot of bowling and being the leading wicket taker in this Test

I thought with Watson out, Smith should have played instead of North giving us a fifth bowler especially with a slight doubt over Harris.

Big blow but he should be right for the 2nd.

Smith should've played for North, Hughes for Swatto.

Run out in a test match FFS!!! Unless you stumble on a easy stroll through for single you should never get run out in any session of a test let alone the first!!! That is not counting a very close finish either (which are few and far between) where you require a mad dash run at every delivery!
