Chris Dibben didn't get a section 1 game? Interesting... Having said that, I don't remember having Chris all year now that I think about it.

But you still had to share that with us RB :D :D .

Just saying that I thought Chris should get a section 1 game as I rate him as a top 4 umpire.

Yeah i know i ws just sh!t stirring about you talking to yourself in your post. I haven't had an issue with Chris' umpiring in the few times we have had him.

I personally would have Tony, Russ, Alan Sutherland and Graeme Gow as my top 4 umpires.

Don't know about Graeme, maybe we got him on a bad game. We only had him once this year in the last game but I thought he was terrible. My choices would be Alan and Tony, both very consistent.

Also although we had a shocking last few games had we won our last 2 we could had been playing finals yet we lose and we finish 10th shows how even the comp was this year hopefully it stays that way for a while.

I think Sheidow Pk will benefit from the amount game time you have given to younger kids in the years to come as will Nth Haven.

South Road, Plympton and WOS have the most concerns i feel as they didn't seem to have young sides.

I think Plympton have juniors though so they should be right over the next few years.

I wouldn't think age is a problem at sth road with our top 4 being 20, 23, 21 and 20. And we've also had a number of players throughout the year play aged from 19 to mid twenties, Which I wouldn't think is too old for this standard. Getting them to commit to an entire season is a problem tho.

Yeah but how old are the rest of the side? When we played you guys, you didn't play so that helps out the situation a bit i know but it was an old side that played us.

The bloke who opened against with Hutchy they both look 30+ Both Williams, Smith, Peterson there is a fair chunk of the side that wasn't young.

no different to nth haven, when we played them they had maybe 3 or 4 blokes under 30 and u just said they will benefit from playing younger blokes?? Don't see much of a difference to be honest... And morphy parks definately didn't seem to hav many young blokes in their side.

But RB thinks Chris Dibben is in the top 4 umpires :D  ;) . Wonder what he thinks of Mick Dibben?

 Way to confuse it all, Bloods! We rarely have Mick and I've had no problems with him either. Either way, still think Chris is top 4 whether he's umpiring this year or not.

NH have had players under 30 and above this year. I think they have had a good mixture of youth. young Quirk is 16/17, Brad Christie 18, elder Quirk 21, The Dark Night is around 20 i would think, Recizsen is a young fella, along with their captain Potts who is 27 (?), Lipson is only 23 or so, along with the keeper that made runs against us, Ellis who is mid twenties i would think. Some good youth in that side!

SR, when we played them were extremely old, pretty average in the field and extremely slow. Peterson, Williams x 2, Hutchy, the other opener and also Adam hartlettt, who although young, will not finish the year off at all due to football committments. WOS and Morphys, with age have bigger problems though i do believe

There is a Chris Dibben that plays for Sheidow Park, and has done for a number of seasons!!!!! He is Mick Dibben's son. Mick has been umpiring for a couple of years, but would be surprised to see Chris being able to juggle playing cricket and being a independent umpire at other games at the same time.

Unless there is another Chris Dibben floating around somewhere.....

Bloods and RB have got mixed up between Mick Dibben and Chris Whibley, and coincidently wrote Chris Dibben, who is Micks son!

I blame Bloods ;) I know most umpires best by their first name, so apologies for contributing to the confusion. Just re-read my posts with first names only and that's my sentiment.

First game of the year we had Mick Dibben, our number 11 was batting smashed it on to his pads and he gave it out. Found out later that he said " He wasnt going to win them the game, so I gave it out"

If either side is bowled out early on saturday, make sure John Zadow takes the ball home ;) Not convinced Alan is up to a Section 1 semi final yet, made a few mistakes and wasnt entirely certain on some rules.

We shall make sure of that, unless we want a new ball, in which case John may not take the ball home ;)

Hope John Zadow doesn't read this post wycbloods..................if he has, just make sure you don't get hit on your size 14 shoes, otherwise he might be putting his index finger up before anyone has a chance to appeal.

I spoke to him last week and he actually said he made a few mistakes that he wasn't to happy about as he said too we all make mistakes sometimes.

He also said to a young kid at the club who asked him something bout cricket "Mate if you learn one thing in life don't get wrapped on the pads" Good advice in our league id say

No problems at all Big Cat i said the same thing last night at the finals meeting at which John was present. I am not saying anything on here that i haven't said directly to the umpires themselves, except praising Russ he already knows he is good and doesn't need to be told so :D ;)

Funny you say that i brought that up last night.

So as of next season there will be strict measurement checks on all umpires to ensure both me and them can fit on the same pitch :D :D they know i won't be changing down so it has to be them. Bloody umpires costing me wickets  ;) .

Maybe a few just look older then. Could have sworn a few of the guys who played against us were the wrong side of 30.
