bit harsh, better than rucci's attempt, its a tough gig picking 50 gun players, after the top 10 it gets pretty even....

I think what needs to be remembered with Roo's list is, IIRC, he mentions these would be the 50 players he would want to start a new franchise with, as the Gold Coast are attempting to do at present. In that light, I thought it was pretty well right on the money, not just about proven form in past years, but potential for years to come.

How about the Roo's club by club preview in the Sunday Mail?

He mentioned Shaun Burgoyne and "I cant trust a bloke who can walk out on a club like that".....big call. I agree, but a big call nonetheless.

I wasn't speaking in terms of football (more him away from football) , just blew me away that he would have a public dig at someones character, when his is questionable at best.

But yes, I agree, a good footballer and club man.

Roo's criticism was at a player walking out on a club. Apples for apples - Roo never did the same.

Not sure how you came to that conclusion. Anyway, all i was saying is that I was a little stunned to see what he had written in the article re questioning Burgoynes character.

End of talk on the topic.

mate, my older brother has a very close relationship through with roo, it started off professional, but over the years they've obviously got to know each other pretty well to the point where there relationship isn't purely professional. and i know my brother wouldnt tell me absolutely everything he knows, but he would at least indicate to me if the great roo is "of shady character". and more to the point, i don't care who he is, my brother wouldnt want to be involved with someone like you are suggesting he is.
