Hahndorf over Mclaren Districts by around 9 or 10 goals.

Blackwood beat Noarlunga by 8 or 9 goals, woods looked quite good. Hahndorfs new coach was there having a gander.

Ironbank vs. Athlestone @ Thunder Park

Athlestone to win by 20 goals and to piss themselves laughing when they see the size of the oval!!

Athelstone won by 2 goals >edited by the moderators, no need for that< with a near full strength side. Ironbank played well with at least 8 A graders missing due to cricket/work. New recruits looked good in their first hit out and beware the Thunderers new forward target... looked really good. After speaking with a few Athelstone players after the game it was apparent they appreciated the small confines of Thunder Park on such a warm day. Oh Yeah... and The Chief had a run and did quite a bit of damage... I guess that will squash the rumours that he's playing for Darwin.

No offence but isnt it always the case that whenever someone plays someone else they are always at full strength whilst the team you play for is always missing half their A grade side?

Athelstone near full strength... I know some of the lads and the A grade coach as I've had a bit to do with the club over the years. They enjoyed their hit out with Ironbank and may do it again next year.

Where is Matt Cooper playing this season? There was speculation he was going to be playing for a club in the RMFL, however he hasn't been listed on the clearances list yet.

No problems in Blackwood's camp. Rumour is club has recieved 53 registrations for U/17's alone

How many U 17's Blackwood teams will there be?
If only 1,...then these numbers could present quite a headache

Nah, like last year Blackwood will have an U/17's team playing in Central Div and an U/17's team playing Country Div. Unlike last year, however, the Country Div side might actually have a bench to work with and be competative. Little embarrassing having only 16 or 17 players turn up and then get creamed by 20 goals to Echunga.

The Ironbank boys always get pumped over trial games.

They'll be confident of taking out the premiership in 2010 now.

Not according to the HFL website. In county, U17s.... Sedan/Cambrai and Callington are programmed in. No mention of Blackwood (Green) this year??
Is a team expected to drop out (maybe Callington)??...either way, the season looks uncertain for a lot of the Blackwood lads.
I guess the next question is ..do they know??

Well word from Blackwood is it's definitely going ahead, however I'm not certain if they've finalised who is going to be coaching the country side this season. HFL site is either out of date or Blackwood's application for a team in the div hasn't finished being processed by the league yet. Either way, Blackwood were late entrants to the country comp last year and changes were made close to the start of season.

Even if Blackwood have a Div 2 side, 60 doesn't go into 42. Still gonna be a lot of boys without a game.

Of course Blackwood will get their way... the Benson FL (I mean the Hills Football League) will make sure of that. Who's running the show in the the HFL? I thought Owen got re-appointed... I guess he just shows up for work.

From What I heard, Athelstone were missing a lot of Key Players, was a chance for players who wouldn’t normally get the opportunity to play A grade. Same with the 2’s alot of lower graded players got to play. Also my mate said Athelstone finished with no one on the bench when they had six initially, two of the injuries happened within the first quarter one of them the best n fairest from the previous year.

From what I heard hey... I guess thats better than being there. Both sides played players that probably wouldn't normally get an opportunity to play A grade. And both benches looked pretty healthy throughout the game. Athelstone's B grade bench was no existant due to one of their players copping an injury. Both teams played a pretty good brand of footy for their first hit out. Nothing should be taken away from either of them - both Ironbank and Athelstone look to be very competitive.

Think it would be best if no trial game scores are posted. Pointless dribble results.
