Would think its the perfect game to lose. Extenuating circumstances with the rain effecting the match....the top two batsman in the comp making nothing between them and only losing by a handful when chasing a big score. Long overdue for a loss. No worries from the westies camp I would've thought.
Go you Westerners !
ok then!! not the best time of the year to be out of form![]()
brahma have been known to score big in semi finals batting first, so there could be another big run chase coming up, will be interesting to see how westies perform under pressure in the semi, with the whole of PDCA expecting westies to take it out for the 2nd time in a row... i have a feeling brahma will knock them off

R&C were cruising at 1 or 2 for 50 odd, fell away and at one stage were 9/109 before the drama started. 9/112, draw enough (or so it seemed at the time) for a home final, Last batsman seemed to get a massive edge to 2nd slip, ball appeared to go from pad to edge of bat (big gap so no confusion as to whether it was only pad or not) only for the umpire to give it not out. Our bowler asked as to why it wasn't LBW, as it seemed also pretty adjacent, Umpire said it was missing. No dramas, however when quizzed about why it wasn't given out caught at slip, the umpire said he was only concentrating on the LBW and didnt notice the huge edge. I believe his name is Bob??? or the chief umpire, not the sort of standard you expect from the umpire. No one at the Lodge blames the batter or anyone from R&C.
In the end we had our chances, and didnt take them during the game (dropped catch at 1st slip by me on batters 2nd ball, went on to make 15 odd). Also been 5/26 doesn't help either.
Besides that moment in the game, well done to R&C, and good luck for the finals. Certainly have the bowling depth to challenge deep into finals, however, they do fall away badly with their batting line-up. Hopefully that changes and they can push OTH.
Now for SW for us in the Semi's, massive task. OTH has proven they can be beaten, but it will need to be a huge effort by everyone. Not out of the realms of possibility, but the odds are stacked against us.
how did brookes go.

If we are to make a big score it will take a huge form reversal from last week. Anything can happen, especially in finals. Weather forecast from the BOM has it cloudy, mainly fine and 25 for next Saturday.
OTH and R&C will be an interesting match. R&C with the gun bowling attack, OTH with the gun batting line-up. Who ended up with the home final in this match?
