Well, I want to name my Div 1 'Team of The Year' as at the end of the minor round. So in rough batting order.... ;

Gorski - (NEK)
Loechel - (Fitzroy)
May - (Morialta)
Marshall - (Para Vista)
Borgas - (Adel Luth)
Giglio (C) - (Fitzroy)
Blight - (Adel Luth)
Cossens (V/C & W/K) - (Para Vista)
Balding - (NEK)
Vines - (Para Vista)
Nitschke - (Adel Luth)
12th man; White - (Adel Luth)

Gigs deserves the captaincy after leading his boys to the Big Dance this year after missing out on Finals in 2008/09. And yes, I know Cossens has hardly kept all year.. ;)

I can afford the luxury of an extra batsman (May) because of the bowling talents of Gorski, Marshall & Giglio in the top order. You certainly wouldn't be upset about fielding this side in an inter-Association match, although you wouldn't want to take them all away for 5 straight day's play during a Carnival without a couple of good physio's and a sponsorship deal from 'Tiger Balm' (I'm looking at YOU, Mark Borgas, Steve Blight & Brenny May! ;)).

Just highlights why Adel Luth have had such a solid year and the fact that you can't buy experience.

Critique away!

Grand Final tips

Division 1..
Very Very Very close game i think maybe Para Vista A just over Fitzroy A :S

Division 2
Rose Park A to defeat Western Knights

Division 3
I cant see Morialta getting close to Paralowie B who havent lost all season but funny things can happen...

And yes i am biased both Enfield teams to win Division 4 and 5

good luck to everyone playing grand finals!

Is that Brenton May ? Is he still doing the rounds ? I remember playing against him back in 94/95. He could play.

anyone elses tips?

As ive said before PV deserve to start this game as favorites and hard to go past, but Fitzroy have been irresistable this second half of the season and flying home with a wet sail.

Perhaps the game will feel routine for vistas and complacency will take over..

Toss of the coin...

Fitzroy by the barest of margins..

Rose Park should win div 2, although not as comfortably as i 1st thought they might and will be good to see them move back to div 1.

Div 3:- Dramas at Paralowie land makes me wonder if they will win this one? Some good players in a strong side so ill stick with them.

Div 4:- Cracker GF, Enfield you can pencil in start of every year to be here, would love to know how many GF this is now for the old codgers down terama? Adel Luth made light work of BP last week with some big names firing.

If Adel Luth take the same side in i see it being a struggle for Enfield to contain them.

Div 5:- Enfield will win this one. A side with so much experience and potential to dominate, i think they will get the job done, Craig Davids, Dave Atkinson, Steve Wise, these blokes can win a game single handedly.

Div 1: Fitzies
Div 2: Ill tip Rose Park but would like to see Western get up
Div 3: Pawawowie
Div 4: If Adelaide Luth have a couple of ring ins then they will start favs but if they dont then Enfield will rightly be odds on...just hope theres a neutral umpire after last weeks events
Div 5: Dont know anything bout this grade but ill tip Para Vista

And thanx Spinny, hope we go alright too.

this is probably very easy for me to say - 'cause I play for Para Vista (!!!) - but i reckon you guys should've said something no matter the outcome.

reading through these pages, it seems that the general behaviour - on and off the field - of a couple of the Paralowie sides this season has been pretty disappointing, and it needs to be brought to the attention of the exec.

for the record, i'll be rooting for Tommy and his boys in their match on saturday too.

Well here i go again on the rules.............the conspiracy against Fitzroy continues....sorry Goat man!!!

The only points AWARDED, as per the LADDER, were 6 second innings points to Fitzroy....for the second innings win, as paralowie left the game. No where does it say you get 12 points for an outright, and if that is the case, fitzroy should get 12 also.

HOWEVER, Paravista C have been awarded 12 match points, cos Paralowie won the 1st innings
( but lost them because of the A grade forfeit), plus 6 points for fitzies second innings win. The exec feel the need to give the first innings match points that were NOT AWARDED to paralowie, to Paravista C. According to the LADDER, Paralowie has ZERO points, the first innings points were NOT AWARDED, and therefore cannot be given to Paravista C. Paravista C are entitled to 10 points, 6 for the match points (from fitzies second innings win) and 4 incentive points, as per the rules.

Lets just say, the people on the exec have received an email from me on this matter, and should treat my letter quite seriously.

I bet you wish you had taken the points. You would now be playinging in a Div 5 Grand final. Looks like Enfield are the real winners out of that.

My tips are as Follows

Division 1
In what I feel will be the closest GF in all grades, I feel Para Vista will win yet another Div 1 premiership in what should be a close affair... Providing Para Vistas key batters bat well against what is a strong bowling line up, I can't see Fitzroy being a chance. But in regards to there last game (round 9 I think) things could be dramatic...

Division 2
In what I see as another close affair, I feel Western 11 may take this one home.. Rose Park have had a great year, both teams can bat but I feel Rose Park are a team of reliance... There quality bowler stocks are short against a good batting line up and there batting line up is reliant on Reidy, Neal, De Ionno etc... I think bowling will be the key in this game.

Division 3
Paralowie for me... Morialta have hit some good form but the Paralowie have been a juggernaut in Div 3 this year... Good luck to both teams

Division 4
This will be a ripper... My tip and Im not being Bias is Enfield United. There batting line up is not consistant but they have a bowling line up second to none in this division.. Key player for me in this game is Peter 'BO' O'Brien

Division 5
Whilst an under-dog here, I feel Para Vista will be the goods here. Enfield have had a decent year but have never had a 'cemented' side whilst Para Vista have had a strong side that have played together all year. It isnt football I know but in big games, regarding desire, heart and courage I feel Para Vista will take this one home

I probably should have worded that better spin.. i didnt mean it as in its dodgy i meant it as para vista always have 3 good teams every year hence why para vista has made the finals just about all of the 9 seasons i been apart of the association

Div 1:Para Vista(too much finals experience to lose this game and they wont..R Marshall BOG :D )
Div 2:Rose Park(B Reidy to make a ton, cant see WK 11 bowling attack getting this bloke out..he is a run machine!!!!
Div 3:Paralowie
Div 4:Adelaide Lutheran(i hate to say it but M Briene to have a day out in this game..a 5 for or even more but i would love to be proved wrong ;) )
Div 5:Enfield(after having seen PV first hand this season i cant believe so many ppl are picking them..get there top 3 batsmen out cheaply and the game will be over assuming they have a pretty similar team last time we played them :D ...and with the likes of Ryan,Hill,Mcleod,Daniels etc we will fielding a very strong team i imagine who are proven to be finals performers so cant go past Enfield to win!!!!!!)

Best of luck to everyone playing in GF's tomorrow
