In my opinion Brett you leave the club a champion of it. A club B & F, A Fos WIlliams medal and of course the one thing Glenelg got to cheer during the darker years the 2006 Magarey medal.

Brett gave his heart and soul to the GFC. As I have previously stated I watched this bloke convincing medico's week in week out through 06 and 07 that he was right to play.. carrying injuries that other blokes wouldnt even think of carrying.

When the GFC needed someone to give an interview... Mouse stepped up. When there was club promo events... Mouse was there. Members loved him not only for his on field tenacity and passion but mainly for his affable and friendly manner off it. The number of kids wandering around in the #2 is a testament to how much he was loved.

He was our shining light through some very dark years. A leader. A bloke who despite his size (and despite having a finger amputated to be able to continue playing the game he loved) would stand up week in week out.

I am very hopeful every Glenelg supporter will express their thanks for what mouse gave to us and respect his decision rather than admonish him for it.

Thanks so much Brett. Goodluck in your final this week.

Hinge certainly did not have the impact nor career at Glenelg that Brett did and I was able to thank him personally for his contribution.
Fish was wonderful servant of the GFC... vice captain... state player... B & F... and again I was able to thank him personally.
McConnell.... not within a bulls raw of Mouse in terms of on field contribution. Did a great deal for the club yes... created a passion and "aura" around the snouts louts that generated a lot of enthusiasm... thus members and #'s around the club. Had a couple of good years early...

I was unable to get hold of Brett and used this forum that I am confident he checks to thank him for his years of service. Obviously he left the club quickly and in his case I had no way of passing on my thanks and best wishes.

Not sure that's appropriate, Mouse may have wanted it kept for the Snouts. Only he can give that permission.
Let that be a lesson to you Port, no one beats the Bays five times in a row in a GF and gets away with it!!!

Permission for what? Reproducing something written on a public forum on another public forum?

I've read it somewhere other than the Snouts site, will the ACCC be after me for intellectual copyright breaches?
