Watched last nights trial, if thats anything like Salisburys "A" grade team they will be in for a long year, I know its only a trial but they didnt show a lot.
We will be fine mate, had four new blokes in key positions that will take a few games to get used to, as well as missing a couple of key midfielders who bring a lot of leadership. Not worried at all about the score last night, nobody even kept it. But well played to The Lodge, their pace will trouble a lot of sides in Div 5.

We play Smithfield at Smithfield next Thursday night, not sure what their lights are like but should be good regardless, I think its just a 6 quarter game with the grades mixed, we then play Paringa the next week at Paringa, we beat them by 40 goals a couple years ago but its fair to say we had a different team back then.

Only major ins thus far are Davis, Olcorn and Burridge from Districts with main losses being Mattew Mooney to Wagga and Wanganeen to West Lakes, so pretty much the same team as last year, so quite young.

Been getting between 30 and 45 on the track

Will definitely be fielding a C Grade this season

Don't see many teams playing a trial against teams they are going to play in the season. What about steven burns from angle vale , heard is training out at north haven.

I don't think so, I haven't seen him
I have a problem. It's to do with the little man, the squashed-in French man, the naked little squashed up hairy boy! You know! With the hand feet

yeah with you pags thought it was a good contest and i think both sides would have come away getting something out of the hit out. imo i thought your back 6 struggled a bit and against good forwards could get found out. good to see schults back up forward for you guys will make a big difference up there. best of luck to you guys for the season and hope you can get out there soon and make a impact.

He told me himself he was playing at North Haven, also plays cricket out there. Not the best of trainers but it could be 4 clubs in three years - houghton, hope valley, angle vale and maybe north haven!

Just an observation, as i stated "IF THATS ANYTHING LIKE SALISBURYS "A" GRADE" without knowing ins or outs.

Well I may as well start a Div 5 - 2011 thread and put us in the poll.

I'm pretty sure when we won a Div 4 GF in 2007 we lost to Elizabeth in a trial, who ended up not making the finals in Div 5. But hey, if you say it, trial game form must be a good way to gauge sides.

I wouldn't be judging any sides on trial form, especially in the first week of March!

We took plenty away from it, as I'm sure Brahma Lodge did. You were the one who said we were in for a long season after our first hit-out of any kind, not me.

That's exactly my point, 'what was displayed' was a first trial game without an internal, with blokes playing in different positions and other blokes not playing. You sound like you expected us to belt you, and when it was a close-ish game, it means we must be ordinary for the rest of the year. I think if we were peaking in March we'd be worried, we expected to be rusty and we were.

Brahma Lodge played well, we didn't, but regardless of what was 'displayed', the game will have no bearing on either side's season.
