Why sing the song? i dont agree with it! Trials games are exactly that TRIALS, try some stuff, get some fitness etc and normally games between lob sided sides i.e a div 4 side adn a div 7 side. There isnt the same intensity involved in trial games either IMO, its more fun than anything.

forgive me, I didn't realise you were talking about pre 1994. I was only playing juniors back then. Maybe you're right then, and at the very least it's definitely worth bringing up. I think the seniors used to also ride horses to their games or walk 20 miles barefoot in the pooring rain!! That might have been back when we had red and black guernseys??

We always used to sing it after a trial win but it had to be real quiet as to not wake up the dinosaurs!
In all honesty I have been playing at the Valleys a little while and have never heard the song after a trial.

If we were young whipper snappers we'd be out on the town!! Not at home on the computer with the kids fast asleep! Demon Juke is the only young whipper snapper. He's probably getting refused entry from some nightclub as we speak.

Song singing is not for trial games. They mean NOTHING compared to the season proper. Shouldn't happen and I doubt if it does happen these days

Yeah not for trials. We won on the weekend and singing the song never even entered my mind.

Fathers, Sons and Brothers at Lockleys.
A nice note at what we believe to be a real Family club atmosphere at Rutland Ave. with;
1. Senior Coach John Corbett and son (multiple B&F winner) Michael in the A's.
2. New Senior Assistant Coach, former Carlton Premiership player and Magarey Medalist, Mark Naley with his son Sam returning from injury, Sam had a break through season in '09, in more ways than one.
3. Assistant Coach Jim Darrie and his son, "on baller" Matt returning from traveling is a 1st class recruit.
4. Reserves Playing Coach Ben "Growler" Bradford with his Father Terry as Team Manager in the Ressies
5. Club Legends newly appointed C Grade Coach Damian "Joey" White and all time record games holder Keith "The Legend" White as his Team Manager. Careful when you shake hands.
6. Former SANFL Eagles U/18 regular and former Westies U/17 Captain Brendon "Plough" Lowrey will rejoin his Brother, Ben at Rutland Ave. A real hard player over the ball, "Plough" will fit back in, like a hand in a glove.
7. And with more good news with a Family flavour, Garth Hall will stay alongside Brother Craig at Lockleys for season 2010.
8. The gaping hole that has been left by one departure, a consistent Key Forward or for that matter a Key Forward, may have just been filled, by another one of our "Brothers" stay tuned.
9. And a favourite son, that had supposedlly left.... HE's BACK! Hmmmm the grass is not always greener

Come be part of our family at "The Best Little Club in Town".

P.S Before the 1 OR 2 HATERS on this blog start pointing out, "derrrr a lot of club's have Family connections", We know I'm just finding a nice segway to bring you all some news from Rutland Ave. ;)

Yeah Stace is back, massive boost for the boys, conducts himself in a very professional manner and puts everything into the game for the farmers.

Hawkesworth is a machine! Somebody his age with his fitness, strength, presence and work ethic is amazing. We are also pleased to have his two sons playing this season - Josh (fullback) and Elijah (Wing)

At this stage on paper the farmers has the side to be competitive but still need to gel more as a side, look forward to the next trial.
