why is it that we always struggle to knock them off over there? doesnt matter the strength of the respective countries, they always lift and give us the shits even when we are a miles better side, bloody sheep lovers

We are a much better side than them, however we've been very slack over the past years playing inferior opposition. Hence, we can bowl garbage and get away with it. Hence, I think our problem over there is a combination of refusing to bowl well, playing on smaller grounds, and the "us vs them" mentality that we love to put upon the poms.

Today, I was screaming for us to bowl a yorker. But again we got away with it. I thought the Kiwi's bowled better than us, as they did in the T20. Look at Southee's Super over, full and non-hittable. SURELY that's the template for every over thereafter!!!!!!

Will it take a world cup loss for us to learn how to bowl well?

LUCKYWORTH LURIDNESS system was an ornament to this game

AU 274[50]
We have a delay due to rain
NZ revised target 266 [45]

Yep 5 overs less and 8 runs deducted
Lets revise that 8 runs 30 balls less
30 less chances also to bowl wides, no balls, and to score sundries
Simply a disgraceFOOL formula

MJ must have played well game 2
No one has had a go at him ....

Another fellow made 47[48] and toook 2/33
No one has had a go at his cricket abilty for about 6 months ....

And why does PONTING have a first slip when we have a keeper like HADDIN
Strangley enough , hardly a derogative comment about his keeping this summer .....

Just 3 of my favourite players had to bring it up !

Injury doubts over Ross Taylor and James Franklin have led to the elevation of the uncapped Shanan Stewart to New Zealand's squad ahead of the third ODI in Hamilton on Tuesday. Stewart, the Canterbury batsman, is in the middle of an excellent season and has won some recognition following the hamstring problems of Taylor and Franklin.

They did make the final of the Champions Trophy not that long ago so in terms of one day cricket the Kiwis are a pretty competitive side who just love to knock off the Aussies, especially on home turf.

We've spent the summer beating up on the blind school and the Kiwis at home represent much tougher opposition.

I said a few years ago that AU wont lose too much when HADDIN replaces gilCHRIST in the batting
gilCHRIST and HADS both started off being sloppy keepers who could bat
HADS is now almost emulating the great one

I agree that Haddin's keeping has improved dramatically, probably better than Gilly's now, I can't agree with the batting side of it, Gilchrist had the knack of absolutely demoralising bowling attacks right from the first ball of the innings.

We've replaced Gilly but we haven't replaced Warne or McGrath yet. The results? We remain a top one day nation but have lost ground in the test arena.

Will we ever replace Warnie and McGrath. I'm not convinced that Gilly has been replaced in all disciplines, sure Haddin's keeping is on par but with 5 down and needing another 250 runs I'd prefer Gilly to be strolling out to the middle.

I hear what you are saying but I reckon Haddin has effectively replaced Gilly, especially during Gilly's last few years where he started to decline. I think that one day we can replace McGrath but I don't think I'll live long enough to see another leg spinner of Shane Warne's calibre. Warney has an astounding Cricket brain and to not make him skipper was Australia's blunder of the recently completed decade.
