I know some exec members peruse this forum so in capital letters.....FINALS GAMES NEED NEUTRAL UMPIRES......all divisions regardless of standard......Old Association coach came out to one of our tainings five or so years ago and ill always remember a comment he passed on "No mater what level or grade you play its your test cricket so take it seriously. You might not be skillful enough to play for Australia but whatever standard is your standard its your test cricket." We all play to win and i think neutral umpires in all finals isnt too much to ask.

 ;)

Great effort by your A's auto. Almost unheard of chasing that score down in a Final, but sometimes chasing a large total is easier than chasing 130-140 because some batsmen don't always take responsibility for getting the team home, thinking someone else will get the runs if they don't. :? Then all of a sudden there's scoreboard pressure when a few cheap ones fall. Finals do funny things to good players. ;)

Who made the runs for Fizty's and how many wickets down were they when they reached the total?

Anybody know how many Adel Luth managed in reply to PV's 207 and who got runs & wickets?

Pretty much a team effort. Contributions from everyone. Matthews and Loechel hit half centuries.

Lutheran only made 80.

How many poles down were your boys when they achieved the total?

And anyone know who got the wickets for PV?? They must've snaffled Borgas & Blight for not many, which was always going to be the key to a PV win.

Cheers mate. Good game of cricket, even though the NEK boys would no doubt disagree..

Apparently for PV, Vines 4/5, Frick 4/23 and Andrew 'The Closer' Bevan 1/0..

Sets up an epic battle over the next 2wks, with both teams much to prove to the other after the debacle of 2008/09. ;)

Hey Herder

Fitzies down 7 fa, chading to total in 63.4 overs. Matthews 68, Lochy 59. Young Rolling with an impresive 36, and Bourkey with a cameo of 28. Great effort by our boys for sure.

The game was played in appaling conditions. It was raining quite heavily for an hour or two, yet the game wasnt called off. It wasnt fair on NEK who had to bowl with a lump of soap, and it wasnt fair for us contending with a skidding ball.

I was silly enough to be square leg for 2/3 of the game, and the NEK boys pushed hard all day.

There was one defining moment for me that has forever cemented the manners, ethics, and good will of NEK. At an ABSOLUTELY crucial point in the game, a catch was taken over the boundary, but only the fielder knew this. He could have claimed the catch, but instead signaled six. I reckon there was literally a foot in it. SMITH was the fielder i believe. It just goes to show that NEK are solid, and with that type of examplary sportsmanship, they will continue to pepper the top of the ladder and have the respect from opositions. As the opposing skipper, i take my hat off to smith, and all the NEK boys.
You stoopid f**k !

First of all, great win skipper! 8)

Secondly, great call in giving kudo's to the integrity of the NEK boys. =D> Personally from a representative perspective, our rep side and indeed our Association is far better off for their participation. The guys I've been lucky enough to interact with from NEK are exemplary in the way they conduct themselves on & off the field and they're a credit to their club and to themselves personally.

I know that's probably not easing the hurt from yesterday one iota, but it augers well for their future, next year and well beyond. Other teams, mainly in the lower divisions, could do far worse than go out and see firsthand how these guys conduct themselves and use the example of NEK's respect for their opposition, team mates and indeed the game of cricket itself, and use that as a benchmark for their on & off field standards.

Commiserations to NEK & Adel Luth. I'm sure they'll both be back in contention for the big one in 2010/11. 8)

Neutral umpires are a MUST in finals!!! I had the privelege of being at the Enfield C and Fitzroy B game yesterday and it was one of the best games i have seen.. it had everything!!! As predicted it was close 14 runs in it and it took a great catch in the outfield in those conditions to remove auto for 68 if this was put down the result may have easily gone the other way :S

Glenys Phillips and Ian Amey went to the game to investigate stuff that happened during the week. Whilst there a paralowie player spilt the beans on the fact he has played under a false name the whole year thus forcing Glenys and Ian to advance Enfield on default to the GF. Good luck Enfield and good luck to the bloke who spilt the beans :P

If Paralowie played someone under a false name for the whole year, the player and the club should be suspended for a least a year, just blatant cheating

i can assure you guys paralowie had no idea that this was going on in any way what so ever elizabeth east came to our club and fielded 2 sides being in div 3 and 5 the sides were ran by elizabeth east guys and at no stage did paralowie have any input in to there selection process's at all and if we knew there were players playing under differant names it wouldve ended straight away.
you've gota keep on keep'n on .........

Sure was a great game, a real struggle in those conditions for both teams, and full credit to everyone.

If this competition want's to be taken seriously we must have neutral umpires for finals.

yeah good sentiments, hopefully Carey you and your club can sort your sh*t out and become the great club in this competition that most of us think you have the potential for. A strong Paralowie is good for the comp.
