How are the roosters looking this year? Any names coming in or are they all going out?

Also, how are Uraidla looking? Did the mass exodus occur that was originally forecast at the end of last year? Surely if they could keep the same team together they should be looking at back to back. Thoughts?

The loss of so many juniors on the eve of the season spells trouble. The lack of loyalty with these guys is surely a concern and might point to a club coaching / management issue.
Its taken many seasons to build up the strength of the colts teams and the U17's now look like going from champs to easybeats in 1 year.

Agree Drummer and obviously there are issues there. We have had a change of direction this year on the junior committee as a few of us have decided it is time to get involved before IB is struggling to field junior teams. No one wants to be relegated to Country for lack of junior teams. Hopefully better communication between coaches/junior committee and kids/parents will see us retaining these boys in the future.

Check the clearance listings...so far, not a single name in or out.
Says something for the stability of the club and the personnel.
No juniors there looking for coin to play...or are they just too far away from the 'money' clubs

fruit box u have no idea.80% is laughable. like any club there are paid players but 80% u gotta be kidding. uraidla turned down past junior josh starke who has played wih north adelaide over the last few seasons cause they didnt want any more recruits. most clubs would have paid almost anything and it turns out lobethal jumped at the chance

80% of 21 players is 16 players being paid to play in that side. i think its safe to say fruit box you have got that one wrong from their last years premiership winning side. their locals such as pridham, browns joel and dillion, 3 cox boys, sutton, richards, thomas, tsortus and so on.

on another note i have yet to hear much from the cabbage camp but maybe they are keeping their losses under thier hat.

who are the other 3 raider boys not playing? In relation to juniors being paid to play I think this is not true, far more likely that the reason may purely be parents moving house or mates playing at the club.Having said that the 3 players blackwood have picked up in the 17's are huge gets.I wonder if the original clubs put in any effort to retain the boys? They are all top lads who can play and just love there footy.

I noticed on the clearence site that Ben Eckermann is on there being cleard from the SANFL to Bridgewater. Whats the go there? Is the clearence site mixed up and he is actually leaving? You don't need clearences to go back to SANFL from Hills clubs anyway do you? Can someone please clarify. Or is it say a brother of who they have got the name mixed up?

Hope you are right AF.
Sound like the changes were too late for these lads. Were they effectively lost at the end of last season?
Lets hope that 10 years of hard work in building strong juniors at IB does not go down the tube.
They are the future of any football.

The CFL has licences for 6 different suppliers currently, the HFL only has an agreement with the shorts and socks through sportsscene. Therefore if they don't like sportsscene they have another 5 options to go with. All jumpers need to have the CFL and HFL logo on them in A grade by the start of the 2013 season. I'm pretty sure they won't enforce B grade and below.

ONLY if the HFL's affiliated clubs vote to remain affiliated with the CFL. TThe CFL may be ousted before 2013 ;)

not as many losses as you have written there i dont think.... neilson still has to make the cut at sturt so could be back, artis was training last night and has been all pre season, stapes is playing, fleet bros and o'gorman didnt make the dev's best 21 come finals time they were playing B's, bawden will be hard to replace.. but have picked up 2 players fom west adel.. including a BIG ruckman, another from paynhem that i know of... whats this about mcdonald on the sideline??

No it's the same Eckermann that played last year. heard it was something to do with him being on loan from Sturt & the Raiders want him cleared to them so they can hold him from leaving the club.

You might want to check your details on that, my understanding is that as it was setup SportsCentre was the only supplier who could do jumpers, shorts & socks with the HFL logo, so unless the contract has been changed, that precludes any of the other 5 from the contest.
Incidentally, it's the beginning of the 2012 season not 2013 so you are as confused about it as a lot of others are and all teams are involved, not just A grade.

Bat Pad - simply call Sam at HFL and she will clarify anything to do with clearance rules or regulations - simpla as that.

Drummer, Mr Juicy and Jumbo 20 - From the horses mouth and please don't take this the wrong way - we at Ironbank are not concerned one iota re the under 17 lads that have left. 3 of them have played at blackwood previously and they only came to us because they couldnt get a game there previously. Philp went to play with his mates and Popey went back to barker for family. We are not going to hold on to kids that don't play for the right reasons. We have new coaches through the grades , a new Junior Footy director who is a mover and a team of really good coaches in place to move the club forward. Matt Smith and a couple of the A grade have got involved. It is time for the club to move upwards and take that next step, and yes we may struggle only so slightly for numbers at points during the year but the ground work is being done to make up for what we have lost over the last year or to in the lower grades. For your info a good number of our senior colts who played in a premiership in 2008 will play big parts in our senior program and a majority of of junior colts prem side of 2007 are back to play senior colts.

We take a low key approach and keep to our own and the results will be a reflection of the program - thats from A Grade down. Winning is the by product of the program. We don't need to sprout we have picked up this player or that player as we have our own internal expectations that we will meet and then take the next step from there.
