Curb the aggression, otr, I made it clear I was just interested in the facts.

I think you also forgot North releasing the 2010 programme before they were supposed to, but no big deal.

C'mon that is scraping the barrel - if you check with the NAFC they were not given any direction as to when it could be released and the SANFL has since apologised for that oversight.

Lucky however they didn't release the SANFL program that only had 8 teams competing this year! ;)
Piss weak SANFL and the CLOWNS who run it.

Can someone tell me what difference it is between this WEST END and COOPERS arguement and BALFOURS and VILLIS :?:
Didn`t a couple of clubs a few years back have VILLIS as sponsors for their clubs when BALFOURS was and still is a major sponsor of the SANFL.
P.S I will still be drinking WEST END DRAUGHT. :-bd

Surely you understand how sponsorship arrangements work? "The Japs", as you so eloquently put it, are putting $1 million a year into the SANFL. I believe it's a tradition amongst sponsors to get some sort of exclusivity for deals like this.

I don't care if they're putting a billion dollars into it, they're only do it for something that's beneficial to them and the fact this Japanese company that make shit beer insist on "exclusivity" whilst a good South Australian company that makes great beer is willing to share since its a free econmy speaks volumes for them both.
I'm just glad at Prospect and Norwood I'll be able to buy South Australian owned beer and even better, at Prospect I'll be able to have a choice like I'm allowed to do as a consumer at most hotels.
:D

As mentioned before by 05, why not the same uproar when some clubs joined Villis when the SANFL had a sponsorship from Balfours?
It's almost like there's other motives involved! ;)

Sitting back reading this thread with great interest. BUT! I am at a loss how a Port supporter can say how North have turned their back on the SANFL regarding this Coopers sponsorship.

Remember 1990. I do and Port stuffed the SANFL then!

Others may look at it being good for the SANFL to have 2 brewers fighting over our clubs, some might even say that we have been screwed by West End for too long - now they have a competitior (which can only be good for our clubs) they are throwing out the history line...

Somehow I think the only thing West End would be interested in is having exclusivity rights at Football Park. Even 1 Power home game can have more people attend, than a whole home season at Prospect. Good on North for doing what's best for the NAFC and it's 2 licensed clubs.

I know it's a little of topic but I think it still fits in.
Last year Coke dropped it's mini-league sponsorship.
This year I had dinner at Sth Adel FC (Jimmy Deans) and was told they don't sell Coke!
I could have pepsi from the tap or schweppes from a bottle.
I told them I couldn't drink Southern Comfort with either as they both tasted like week old diet coke, so made them tip the Southern down the sink and bought an alco pop drink instead. :(

Coopers "willing to share"? They have no choice, there's an existing sponsorship arrangement in place with Lion Nathan. It's hardly a matter of being magnanimous. You seem to think it's unreasonable that a major sponsor asks for some exclusivity in relation to a rival company.
As for Vilis, I don't know but perhaps Balfours' sponsorship wasn't on the same scale as Lion Nathan's and therefore didn't warrant similar exclusivity.

I do think it's uneasonable that I as a consumer has no choice especially a choice for a South Australian owned beer in Souh Australia so well have to agree to disagree.
Anyway, my club is now the only one in the SANFL that offers choice to the consumers and I applaud them for that as that's the way it should be.
It's one leas place I have to sneak beer into and means more of my money will be going to Footy. :D

Now if we can just get the Westies BBQ somewhere at Prossie to give us a choice there!

Even if it ends up costing the SANFL hundreds of thousands of dollars and the clubs tens of thousands?

Are North the only club who ran themselves into the ground then traded out of it? I must have been dreaming when I thought the same happened to Norwood, Sturt and West. Funny how their fans don't go on and on about it.

There's a giant box of get over yourselves just waiting to be opened at Menzies Crs.

I was talking about the club, not the fans, sorry for stating a fact, I didn't realize that would upset you, from a personal point of view I want to see the entire comp flourish so I can make more money out of this site! ;)

This thread is great free advertisement for a great South Australian beer!
It tastes so good and is so wonderfully refreshing I might have some at lunchtime!
Coopers, family owned brewer of hand crafted ales, stouts, lagers and homebrew kits.

So it's ok for North to "not care" about the SANFL, yet Port Adelaide are crucified for doing the same? If indeed that's what we were doing.

If it really is just "all about the beer" for you I'm surprised, shocked and dissapointed.
