Don't blame cricket NZ... they were hellbent on getting there former CEO the gig. Cricket Australia is the sole beneficiary/cause of this decision. From memory the australian rugby union also tried to get a similar deal under way last year involving howard but the international rugby community wouldn't allow it. will be interesting to see what happens when his stubborn ways conflict with the power bloc.

I never thought I'd agree with the Indian's on anything cricket related, but it looks like Zimbabwe, South Africa and India are all going to object to Howard's nomination

Lets hope a few more countries object and he doesn't get the nod.

Honestly, how often do we hear what the President of the ICC does?

Never. Zero times per week- unless we search for it.

Our former PM will make headlines for a day or two, then the occasional by-line in the sports section when/if something major happens.

Also, he's proven through the running of this country that he's an able administrator. Got my vote... for the first time...
