Without naming any individuals i can say that the team features 10 TOTY Virgins and several big name omitions. Im sure it will create a lot of debate and discussion on this forum after friday night.

So are all the mysterious members of this forum making it to the German Club for Gaelic Prezos on Friday night? Looking forward to a good night! CT's Tip: get there for 5:30pm as happy hour kicks off and its $8 jugs!

Here's hoping that any possible controversy from the men's TOY doesnt lead to any hand bags fighting - or even worse a return of the dreaded inside leg kick thyat was unveiled on Sunday arvo. If any Octagon action does errupt i hear Zeus will be there in an officiating capacity to waive "play on" and do bugger all about it...

Also the Taints have been ROCKED (excuse the pun) by the scheduling of the Soundwave festival :supz: which is rudely being held this Saturday before Gaelic semi finals. A fair few Taints are trekking off to see Faith No More, Trivium, Placebo, Anthrax and the like, so coupled with the prezo night on Friday night i feel that the trademark sweet aroma of stale alcohol could again be accompanying the Taints out for their clash with Onkas...

CT, i do believe myself, the motorboat & the illustrious WW will be making an appearance at the prezo night. Unfortunately we miss out on happy hour due to footy training. I believe WW has the team of the year sheet tho, so the party really doesn't start til he arrives.
As for handbags fighting, if Zues is doing the refering, be secure in knowing that either myself or WW will be running the betting book :D
Finally, the Taints won't be the only ones effected by Soundwave. I believe as few as 4-5 Na Fi players will be there. In hindsight, last weeks victory to get the 6 15 game was vital!

Who do people believe has the best chance of beating Gabe in the "Gabe Phillips award"???

I made it in 1988 the same year an ex president became ineligible for said team due to unfortunate incident on a stage during the Sydney games. Only 4 people were present but about 45 people can give full details of one of SA Gaelics great stories.

Was a top night!

A key Taints defender will miss todays semi final due to a sprained/bruised/broken/bung ankle sustained when attempting to jump the fence at the Garden of Unearthly Delights after Prezo night! Another will play with a massive gash on his hand due to the same incident... this sorta thing could only happen at the Taints!!

Too bad Faith No More cant sing the national anthem to lead things of today, they were awesome at Soundwave yesterday!

A HUGE UPSET at St Marys Park today, with the plucky Taints recording a hard fought 1 point victory over the highly favoured Onkas outfit. Western Ireland defeated Na Fianna fairly comfortably in the other semi to setup a St Brendan's vs Western Ireland Hannigan Cup showdown.

In the girls games Onkas beat Rovers and Western Ireland beat the Blues.

Yep the finals specialists St brendans have done it again with another HUGE upset in the semi final round. A great effort by the taints... Rogers, Way, Lush, Milsom, Gino, Fennoughty all injured or away. Majority of the squad who took the field yesterday wouldnt be known to those in the gaelic circles.

Yet you wont find many more committed efforts then that yesterday tho.

Interestingly that both mens semi finals were won in the second half by the team kicking into the (Brendan) Gale force winds..!!

was a very good win for the taints. big suprise after talking to them friday night. well done. and another year with out making the Gf for the highly decorated onkas side. but as the taints boyz have said it comes down to the day and yesterday things did not go onkas way. And in the second hald the taints ran all over them.

as for our game, we worked our way into the game and got over the line to give us a chance on sunday. very disapointing to get a few injuries late (and no dave flo hammy this year) One of the injuries requires surgery and will miss his entire footy season, the other to rappa (bloke who kicks off the ground) looks like may have put a stop to his grand final chances as well. so looks like the Goats will be back to the bare minimum 15 for the final.
We're in hell right now gentlemen. Believe me. And we can stay here, get the shit kicked out of us, or we can fight our way back into the light. We can climb outta hell... one inch at a time.

Some great games yesterday. Onkas kicked themselves out of the game to miss out on taking Betty and the Triple.
St Brendans and the Running Man in a good posi to go all the way next week.

Was the Semi Final between Western Ireland and Na Fianna the Water Boy's first 'official' State League game?
Has Adrian got his Grade 1 yet?
Will one of them get the gig at the big dance next week?
If so, will we have someone on the sideline interpreting the frees (and the ball ups) and giving some signals?

Will Anto recover (from his sore back) to take charge?
Will TJ be asked now that there is no Ref's co-ordinator?

Will Jason Fay be allowed to coach the Crusaders after their stunning performances without him?

Hello all, it seems there is alot to talk about in the world of SA gaelic footy.
I unlike others, will actually front up after my team losses to explain.

Congratulations to WI who were too good for us in the second half. They wanted it more & ran harder, hence got the rewards. Please note that my next two points are not excuses, just statements & wouldn't have changed any result.
- The st mary's doctor went missing in the second half?
- Tony the waterboy as the referee. No disrespect to Tony, but he's only refereed 1-5 games of gaelic footy! Surely that is not enough experience to take on a semi final? Surely a one day course isn't enough for this situation? All ref's who went thru this course should be accompanied by an experienced ref for their first 1-3 games IMO, instead of being thrown straight into the deep end where the only feedback they get is from angry players & coaching staff. I understand that this is how Gags was learning to ref, but in some wisdom was not allowed to continue his progression to ref as he didn't partake in the course.......

Another congratulations to the Taints who pulled off a massive upset. The famous Taints preparation before a game of a friday & saturday on the good stuff once again gets them thru. I must also point out the miraculous efforts of the individual with the broken ankle. I was shocked to hear that he made it out of the German club, let alone have the ability to kick on. Then to front up at Soundwave all day after, the effort was super human.

Can anyone link the absence of the "purple cowboy" Jason Fay on the weekend to a particular festival in Sydney occuring on the same weekend?

Can anyone link the absence of the "purple cowboy" Jason Fay on the weekend to a particular festival in Sydney occuring on the same weekend?

I came back from Sydney on Friday evening just in time to get to the Preso night late and I think I got a glimpse of him with cheshire cat grin, stubble, tight purple shorts and a purple feather boa going thru the terminal at Mascot. (It coulda been someone else though.)

In other Sydney related news: I bought a copy of the Irish Echo today and front page shows NSW GAA President Steve 'FC' Carey "In Frantic Bid to Save Home Field". For anyone that has been to a mind altering National GAA Congress, or knows anything about the bleating and squealing by NSW about the Visa Rule at National Championships, or that they refuse to promote the game to Aussies, it will not surprise you to hear that the Auburn Council cites the following reasons to kick them out: "grounds identified as being underutilised; only used one day per week; the majority of the NSW GAA's members are not Auburn residents; the participating clubs appear more focused on mature aged sports; no schools development; and that Gaelic Games were irrelevent to the majority of locals."

This guy has gone on the record in the past and very publicly declared that Gaelic Games in Australia should be run by Irish for Irish only.
