After last weeks cries about unsportsmans like behaviour, you would've thought Nashy would've showed some today. The guy is an absolute clown.

Compass, well done on getting the win, you can thank Nash for his work with bat and ball, but he's still a wanker.

Bailey the only one who showed any real form with the bat making 49. Spurls chipped in with a quick 36 but really needed to stay around for longer. Drake and Lawrence made a 50+ run tenth wicket partnership but the game was the best part of gone.

All the pies can do now is finish the year with a win, have a kick of the footy and look forward to the 2010/11 season.

Going to be an interesting finals series to watch.

Whilst the odds are stacked against you Damien, it's not over yet for you boys. If you beat McLarens next game, Aldinga beat Golds and Maroons upset Pt Elliot you will get in with your percentage. Yeah sure, there's a lot of things that need to happen but it is still possible.

Geez, Goolwa again out of the finals race by the looks of things.

What's next season going to bring, "life without Spurling".
With the ship continuosly sinking year after year and the petrol prices always on the rise you can't blame him though.

Rocky at least your boat is still floating on the water so 13th of March seems like an obvious time for a spot of fishing.

Where were you Jimmy, were you knocking around in the 2's. I do not know why, after the shot i saw yesterday from McMillan it makes me raise the question how the hell was he in the Country team with Cammy Lintern a couple of weeks ago.

On the game, well done to Willunga, yet another close game between the two sides. Unfortunately for us 135 was not enough and if we want to do anything come finals we will need to rectify this. Kudos goes to Trent Milford who singlehandedly won the game for the Dee's with a superb knock. I must mention the superb bowling effort from ifould a massive 18overs with figures of 4 for 20.

1 Encounter Bay 11 1 6 1 3 0 74 1693 97 1661 45 1.3361
2 Aldinga 11 0 7 0 4 0 93 1882 99 1759 42 1.1390
3 McLaren Districts 11 0 6 1 4 0 75 1605 88 1491 39 1.2630
4 Mount Compass Gold 11 0 6 0 5 0 93 2022 91 2031 36 0.9742

5 Port Elliot 11 0 6 0 5 0 95 1437 90 1415 36 0.9621

8 Mount Compass Maroon 11 0 1 0 9 1 113 1587 65 2027 12 0.4504

Very Interesting Here Lads......
Enc Bay surely have sown up a finals spot and with a win this week would grab top spot.
Aldinga have mt Compass in which will be a ripsnorter!!!!!, Compass playing for finals spot have to win
McLaren are not safe and if Goolwa knock them off Elliot Win and Compass Gold Win they would Miss Out
Compass Gold need to Win or Hope Elliot lose to Maroons but elliot should win that one.
Port Elliot can still miss out if both Compass and Mclaren win on Crappy run rate

Mathematically it is only Maroons who cannot make the finals, although they could have a major say in who does. All other teams are in contention if Maroons beat Elliot this round. The game is at Burgess which is generally a batsman's paradise and where 250 would be a par score for most sides, it could be interesting. You would think Elliot would get up, but Zimmerman is in good form for Maroons and East & Perovic are more than capable with the bat so you never know.

If that result occurs and Aldinga beat Golds, it opens the door for Goolwa or Willunga to slip into the 4 providing they beat McLarens and the Bays respectively. McLarens have been relying too much on Ife in recent weeks, whilst the Bays are still missing Butler and Willunga are tough to beat on home soil so it is definitely possible.

It shows how tough and competitive this season has been.

After the decision to have 2 Compass Sides in A grade.....it looks as if it was a fantastic failure.
Where will Myponga finish in the B's?

Would a Bye have better?

how can you say that exposing another 11 guys to the best this comp has to offer has been a failure. regardless of their standings or results, its been a success and would happily see this done next year. i dont mind the bye concept but would rather see more people playing a grade cricket where possible

Exactly right Richard! Compass always knew that the Maroons were going to struggle, but saw it as an opportunity for a number of young players to cut their teeth in the A grade competition (as well as a few 'veterans'). Teenagers such as McKenzie, Hunter, Perovic, Barrett and Josh Dalitz have had the chance to play regular A grade at an early age and I'm sure will benefit from it in the future.

Yep, I agree. You can't say that Maroon's have been any worse than say a Rapid Bay, or a depleted Pongy would have been..

I'm actually surprised they haven't managed a couple of more wins for the year.. as the saying goes, you only get better by playing better cricketers.

Maybe a win in the final round is on the cards!

Maybe Damien or the Rock can shed some light on the Goolwa line up for this game. Full strength outfit to venture down the Vale this week?

what are the chances of andy evans bowling from one end all day as hes only behind chris butler by one wicket in the race for the bowling trophy?? i recon most of the goolwa lads will share in the 35 overs from the other end.
