I think it would be North West BJ. If Willunga is Aldfinga East. Aldfinga is Willunga West.
Silly idea too BJ. I thought you were smarter than that

I edited the post before you replied this, lets not pick at each others post, ive never heard of Aldfinga.

Enough of this tomfoolery. Have we got any trials coming up over the next 2 weeks, i know its early but is anyone getting an early hitout in over the Adelaide Cup weekend?

Returning locals starting to appear on the Victor Clearance list with Levi Bell heading back to Roo Park!

Sounds good, all the clubs complain about how `far we are away` anyway, so may as well make a weekend out of it!! Im sure the Ozone Hotel would love to have a few hundred more patrons coming thru the doors every Sat night.

I noticed on the clearances list Todd Dellatore who i think has played for both LC and Strath, has put in a clearance application (which according to the list has been denied) to play for an RMRL club. Does anyone know which club in the RMFL he was wanting to be cleared to?

Oh ok, interesting. As far as points are concerned..there was a Dellatore who played for them a few years back so he'd be a zero pointer if its the same player, otherwise, presumably it would be 3.

So whats the finishing order at the end of the minor round likely to be?

My guess:

Willunga
Victor Harbor
Langhorne Creek
Strathalbyn
Myponga

Mt Compass
Yankalilla
Goolwa/Port Elliott
McLaren
Encounter Bay

Ha ha. Myponga to be competitive, i don't think so, Encounter Bay will be the only one's keeping them off the bottom, i am however hopeful they can snag a game or 3 which is all it will take to get over the top of Myponga.

We're in for a cracking season!!

Try and split these 4 sides; Willunga, Victor, Creeks, Strath - top four could go either way, Willunga as strong as ever. Victor with many top recruits. Creeks plodding along having maintained there quality squad. Strath with a strong squad and depth will stay at the pointy end.
Thn try and split these sides; Goolwa/Pt Elliot, Myponga, Mclaren, Yankalilla, Mount Compass, Encounter Bay - Will Compass stay in the top 5?? Can the Pies improve on one spot to play finals?? How will the new coach and players fair at Pongy?? Will Yanks recruits do enough to lift them up the ladder?? Where are McLaren at?? Can Mods get Bays off the bottom??

I don't think you pick to much this year, which is great!!

It is very much a 'watch this space' kind of year.

Will be a very good year in the GSFL in 2010.
My Ladder in finishing order

Willunga
Pre Season has seen more sprint work rather than the hard slog of previous years. Maybe to keep the aging legs fresh. Big Deboo,Thomas, Guitink and Hams are a formidable cluster of tall forwards and hard to match up on, although Hams may play out of the square a bit more with his gammy knee. A good midfield with Miegel adding a bit of bite.
Archilles Heel....All a year older
Langhorne Creek
Picked up a couple of midfielders in Basir and McGregor, but missed out on a ruckman who they needed. Not sure where Feast will be...my mail not at Langhorne Creek. A couple of big outs including Footner who is as smooth as velvet. Maxed out on points. New coach, who can certainly sell floor coverings, but unproven as a coach.
Archilles Heel....Without Feast will lack Talls
Strathalbyn They have been very consistant over the last couple of years. A new more direct game last year helped enormously. Big pick up in Redden who will answer their prayers for a good big man to help out the old fella. Will miss Peglar, but have juniors galore and so much pace.
Archilles Heel....Seniors may be mentally scarred after losing both A's and B's Grand Finals two years in a row.
Victor
Have some absolute guns in Hodge, Ellis boys, Ryan and Saunders if he recovers from knee and back issues. Fell away last year after a brilliant start. Proven Coach, with a proven assistant...but will they get on??? Also maxed out on points.
Archilles Heel....Lack of depth
Compass
Had all four sides in finals in 2009 which is a real credit to them. A bit of unrest in the camp from all reports and the loss of Webb and Burdett will hurt. Play a good open style of footy which has not been overly successful in finals. Quality club .
Archilles Heel....Sammuels last year and it will be very good or very bad

Next Five a bit later

The next five on the ladder.
Of the top 5 I reckon Compass will be the side that is most vulnerable and when these five play Compass, it will be game on. In 2009 only Goolwa/ Pt Elliot were capable of beating a side in the top five.
6th Goolwa
A club that has improved tremendously. Some good juniors from LF should be coming through.
Quality midfield with Yeo and Ewer with young Jones doing well in ruck. Will miss White. Young side who run the ball well with heaps of skill. Very astute and proffesional coach who got the best from his players. No recruits in the system as yet but will surprise with a couple of solid ins.
Archilles Heel....Young side that will be a little inconsistant
7th McLaren
Improved in 2009. Kept almost all of last years players. Will need the youngsters like Pistilli, Williams, Natale, Khonke, Gentel, Zohar etc to progress. A bit of experience in Scooter McCade, Cam Hockey and Hanny added to the list. Struggled against the top 5 last year. Reasonable depth and they have had a tough pre season. They have coach who knows what is needed to win.
Archilles Heel....Grape Vintage going a bit longer this year. Why do so many of McLaren players work in the wine industry?
8th Encounter Bay
Had a shocking 2009 but will improve. Mature aged coach coming in who will implement the skills from Sturt. Played some very good footy at times. Favourite son Modra to Assist and may help in picking up a couple of gun players. Need big Blum to play the footy he is capable of and Baggs continues to impress. Like McLaren they need the juniors who played a bit last year to step up.
Archilles Heel....Coaching Panel a little late in Appointment and missed some recruits
9th Yankalilla
Father Son coaching Panel is interesting. With their recruiting will have a very good midfield. Lack a bit of depth. Always a tough club and always have a go. Could go as high as 5th but will need a bit of luck.
Archilles Heel.... A long way from anywhere and not many players come out of the sea
10th Myponga
Could finish anywhere from 5th to 10th. A strong and happy club. Very solid Coaching panel with Sambo and Deacon. If young Hunt from Aldinga/South Adelaide plays every game they will do very well. Tomlinson and Hutchy back and some very impressive U17's from 2009 will give them the depth they have lacked since Deacon left.
Archilles Heel....Would have to be closest to the strongest Social Club going round. Can Sambo and his uncompromising coaching style get the balance of a good time of the field to a winning time on the field

For anyone else doing a ladder...have the balls to go from 1 to 10. Not just the top 4 and the next 6.
Doing that is just a cop out.

If Aldinga even clear him in the first place. Lets hope for his sake they do the right thing and don't do another 'Jacquesy', would be a very bad decision on their behalf if they try keep another young talent from doing what he wants to do and play with his mates. If they do I can assure you alot of people will be turning their nose at the thought of ever playing at Aldinga.

Willunga - No signs of coming back to the pack
Strath - Will challenge again
Victor - Even more recruits should help depth
Langhorne - ? on depth, last years finals proved this
McLaren - Will improve on last year

Mt Compass - Couple key outs will hurt
Goolwa - About the same, not quite finals contender
Yankalilla - Seem to be on the improve by all reports, possibly most improved side for the year
Bays - Will struggle
Daylight - New team to the comp, will find their feet

Pongies - Yep, stone motherless.
