RFL is approx div 3/4 standard imho. Also the quote that Flinders Uni played Wunkar and Wunkar lost by a few goals.....Flinders in at least the past 15 years have never been ultra-competative in div 6, so i'd suggest you do not use them as a measuring stick on the standard. At best they are a premiership side in div 7.
What do you all rate as a better standard.... SAAFL div 1 or Sunraysia?
Can you bring a man to his feet when defeat is on repeat?

I reckon on last years form only Bennet, Callahan, Jenkins would be definites and Stelzers would make it if fit for a full year. The rest would be fringe at best.

Plus the Mallee's first 21 is pretty competitive, with blokes like Josh Richardson, Shaun Walker, Ben Greiger, etc etc running around in it. Saturday footy way below RFL, but top few in each club are strong enough

so youre saying with the interleague this year the mallee will destroy the indys? thats how i see it anyway.

IMO i think that the riverland comp is equal if not better then div 3. i played div 3 two years ago and then came back to play in the riverland comp last year. i felt it was as of the same standard. although in saying that you will never be able to compare, due to the differet ways the game is played in the country and city, weather conditions vary too much.

many riverland players could play div 1 footy, lets not forget how young the players playing in the RFL are compared to the age of players playing in div 1.

Is hard to compare comps, but if you look at
amateur players that have come to the riverland none
have really dominated in the last couple years with the
exception of P.Smith(gepps cross) S.Callahan(walkerville)

Being someone that has played div 1 in a very successful team and having also played in the RFL i would say that there would be more than those 5 renmark players that would match it in a div 1 team. However in terms of making a goodwood saints team, they do have a abundance of gun small to medium size players which would make it harder to get a gig for midfielders and non key position players. Its hard to try make comparisons and say whether someone could match it div 1. Its a completely different style of football. Smaller grounds, quicker ball movement alot through hands and its not often youre free of pressure.

Bit of a gutless act by two posters from Barmera and one of their mates, who was involved in beating up on a young Berri lad on Saturday night in Barmera. You really should know better than to do those sorts of things. Pretty gutless act. Silly, silly, silly

from what I heard of the incident, It didn't have a lot to do with the footballers, but more their mate. In saying that I wasn't there and only heard of a scuffle between the berri lad and the mate.

Wow not sure where you blokes get your stories from sometimes. If by "involved in beating up" you meant "sitting in a car when it happened" i guess you could be onto something..

That's true. It's a bit different playing on a postage stamp at Goodwood or a slop pile at Gaza to playing on big, lush grounds up in the Riverland. Totally different style of footy, which is probably why some don't adjust well. Yep, it's an argument that will never be solved, but I'm sticking with high div. 3, and I definitely don't think it's any lower than that.
Don't be scared. Now is not the time!
