First time I went across the Hay Plains I thought it was awesome because there was a big electrical storm and the lightning over the plains was spectacular. Then a few years later I went again and the most exciting thing was the dead galah on the side of the road.

First time I went over the wind whipped up heaps of minny 'twisters', was wicked. That was 1 crossing of about 10 that I've done though. Best bit about crossing the Hay Plains in the awesome truck stop breakfast you can get on the other side!
