SANFL RULE #1

Postby CUTTERMAN » Thu Feb 11, 2010 12:45 am

With all of the port merger crap going on, I propose a new rule to head all others.
Any club wishing to play/ compete in the SANFL WILL never be or seek to be merged, allied, joined, in partnership or taken over by any AFL side or affiliation. It is of major interest that ALL SANFL clubs have an even playing field, seperate from any AFL alliance with any SANFL club/clubs in particular, which would distinguish themselves from other clubs.

I'm sure someone can put it across better, but you get the idea. Let's nail this dangling carrot once and for all.

What about "NO AFL PLAYERS" to play in the SANFL Finals. :D

We have a problem in SA.

No 2nds teams playing in an AFL comp.

The major problem seems to be the dividend payed to the SANFL is killing our AFL Teams...

With respect GG, that's just stupid. To boot, any AFL team in SA that has a specialist reserves team in the SANFL will doom the comp just as it did the WAFL.

Can't do that either, as if either SA AFL teams are in the finals they should have the opportunity to have their players playing if given the opportunity. Keeps form and fitness up and gives players a chance to prove themselves under pressure.

Not really. Use the exact same system we have now for AFL players playing in the SANFL but just add a clause to ensure that there can be no direct affiliation or merger with an AFL club/team. If SANFL clubs choose to merge then that's fine but it's not fair to do so with an AFL one.
