I hear Ashley Whiley is going to Mount Compass (an ex captain i believe)
I have also seen Chris Konke has lodged a clearance to Myponga
And young Nat McMurtrie and michael Balas have made some noises about joining us down here at demonland. I would be very happy with these two boys.

What's going on down there?

Young Ash Whiley is going to Compass, has alot of mates there and yes he was a u17 Premiership Captain,B grade B&F last season. As for Konke, lets wait and see what happens.

As for whats going on down here, well,we have only lost 2 players and while we dont want to lose anyone it happens. We have picked up alot more thanwe have lost
If the only reason you play is for a beer with your mates after the game, your playing for the wrong reasons !!

All our new players are currently on the clearances page.

Fair bit of player movement and a fair bit of it seems to be out of the GSFL.

So.....Tim has signed on with you guys i assume?

I agree, why would you try and recruit guys for 400 or 500 that stick around for one year and piss off your lads who are very good players and young too so will only get better

Back on nightshift, finally catch up on whats happening down there! Ahhh the annual money subject!!! ha ha
Interesting topic, interesting phone call from the compass coach over the weekend checking to see if there were any ruckmen down this way who haven't yet committed that might be worth talking to. Very frustrated bloke, couple of months out and his only reckonised ruckmen pulled the pin. We did talk about Webb and paying locals, he said all there players who play A grade get something including locals, the minimum was a meal and drink voucher I think he said, still I reckon it would be worth $20-$30, for a club that isn't loaded with cash, its not bad. With Webb It sounds like he was being looked after for his role in the team, also Steve said he had called in a favor from a family friend and got him a full time job landscaping, which is what he wanted to do, and worked there a week and quit...bit ungreatful! The trouble with a lot of young blokes is they see the $$$ and not the big picture. He's gone from a club that has a good winning culture now, mates, to a club that apparently hasn't won a game in years, for a few bucks. Tough decision I guess!

Yes, a huge surprise that one. Gasko is understandable as he has had a year off, but this bloke seemed keener than ever for another crack at a flag as he missed last year through injury. Power of the $$$ may have won that battle.

Emu onballer Tim Howell has rumoured to have signed with the Mudlarks. Has had a couple of injury interupted seasons and from what i hear wanted a fresh start. Def a few disappointed people at emu land but i'm sure they will cope.

If true, Timmy would be a handy pick up for any side..hard at the footy and a good midfielder!! Goodluck to him

A few of us were talking about this last night at training it wasn't anything to do with the club apparently his girlfriend didn't want him playing here, she had a run in with his family or something. A lot of us are pretty dissapointed with his decision to put a chick before playing with your mates. Its like when Braidwood left us because his ex girlfriend was playing netball for us and the new one didn't want him playing with us. No wonder Hoots is going grey, two players through chicks. He's never put restrictions on us for anything, he's always said its our responsibility to the team to do the right thing but I reckon he might be thinking of banning us from seeing chicks during footy season!! ha ha

that is the problem with this 'younger' generation! In MY day ... it was the bloke dictating what was happening!

I would say: "Love I'm going to footy training (thurs night!) catch after training" ... well WE GOT HOME FRIDAY MORNINGS ... The chicks knew what WE did and IF they LOVED us they would accept us for WHO WE ARE !! ....

let's get some MENS LIBERATION back, this equal opportunity thing has gone way too far .... BRING BACK THE BIFF!!

the unfortunate thing for the likes of Webb and Braidwood is that if they both stayed at THEIR club .... they would be enjoying greater success on and off the field! but then again they are adults and they need to learn from their actions! good luck i'm sure THEIR club will be still their for them.

PS: ladies this is written with a slight tongue in cheek!

On the Victor site on the GSFL website, they have a paragraph re their recruits:

http://www.sportingpulse.com/club_info. ... nID=139978

"Kangaroos recruit Tim Boyd, impressed along with fellow recruits Leigh Ryan, Tarquin Brown, Luke Whatman, Aleks and Denis Iljcesen".

They sound like some pretty reasonable recruits, does anyone know much about any of these? Ryan, Boyd and Iljcesen are all from South? I did a search for Tarquin Brown on this site and there was someone by that name who played league footy for North Adelaide last year (not sure if same player). I also did a search for Luke Whatman, and i have no idea if its the Victor recruit, but this particular Luke Whatman played in the ACT League.

With the Ellis brothers and a couple of other handy players in their ranks, in addition to their recruits, Victor presumably will be a good chance for the top 3 this year.

Yea mate your pretty spot on with the clubs those guys are previously from, Taquin is the younger brother of Jamie 'Dogga' Brown and at 0 points will be great for the roo's. Also another couple new faces out at training last night.
