Fortunately this situation can be changed with some hard work though, as other SANFL clubs have shown.

You could be right on the first point and I agree on the second

I was purely talking about the identity debate. Maybe I am making it over-technical which is what I am accusing DW of?

No, I did get your drift re identity. I'm kinda with DW on that one. Whether we see 1 or 2 clubs continue, I reckon it would help the situation if both came out and said "we are Port Adelaide", presenting a united front to their own supporters and opposition alike.

Anyway, why exactly is it a troll?
I'm not sticking the boot in at all.
As an example, I've been toying with donating some money to the Magpies? But which one is the original Port Adelaide?
I'm sure there are other people who would ask the same question when considering where their money is going to go.
If you look through my posts on this issue, you'll see that I've asked questions of proponents of both sides about the issue.

Just the first 3-4 sentences of that original post screamed troll to me.

But having clarified it, fair enough...play on.

IMO - they are both the original Port Adelaide.

The problem with doing that is it alienates Power fans who weren't Port Adelaide supporters prior to 1997.

(Although the Power's current style of play is doing a good job of that regardless of your background ;) )

I agree fully. A statement of unity from both PAM and PAP would be ideal IMO. It was sort of what I was trying to say.

I sense the SANFL's vote has achieved this partly. Long way to go though.

I've probably gone off on a pedantic, unnecessary tangent with DW.
