Callum Ferguson - A-Grade Batting average of 20.62

First Class Cricket Talk (International and State)

ferg was targeted at a young age, like 13 or 14 and they just put him in the dev squads, state squads each year, with good reason as he was performing, but the saca has invested heavily in this kid and will give him every chance...he has made runs in carnival play, 2nds and most other non-a grade games....he isnt setting the house on fire but he will be given more of a chance as he was targeted from an early age. I have doubts about whether or not he will play for Aust but he should hopefully make a decent state bat.

Stats can be deceiving. Siddons only averaged 36.16 in SA grade cricket, and you could hardly argue that he was not a brilliant player. Lehmann 'only' averages 43 for Northern Districts, with a top score of 109. Blewett has a good average for Kensington - 56.26 - which probably reflects both the quality of the Parkinson oval pitch, and a couple of very big tons he has scored in recent years. Ferg is good enough. He will make plenty...
