From what I understand its a done deal. I must admit even though I don't want the Magpies gone I would be really enthusiastic about no bye and each team playing each 3 times.
Would prefer a 10 team comp with Woodville, Torrens and Port all involved though. :D

Beenreal
"Nothing beats a rational, well researched response?!"

And that my friend is why the PAMFC, will die, because you can't see that by accepting the position the club is in is "real" and working like buggery to get out of it is the only way it will survive, instead of whinging, threatening and expecting handouts, when no one else has been given that oportunity.

By the PAMFC saying it will be the death of the SANFL, is only extending the old culture of overstated self importance.

Cheers

Many "great" football clubs world-wide have bitten the dust in the past despite magnificent histories and support,
Just happens now to be Port Adelaide magpies turn. The controllers of the club wanted to play in the AFL and they have still got that.
Verschrikkelyk!!

While i will miss going to Alberton, even though it doesn't feel the same as it did 10 years ago i won't be shedding any tears and am actually looking forward to an even 8 team comp, love the idea of one home and one away game against every team with maybe the nuetral game being played as friday nights at Adelaide Oval.

Spoke to a mate in Adelaide during the week who is a red hot Maggies fan who hates the Power and said he'd rather pack up shop than merge with the Power(this is a bloke who hasn't missed a game in 40 years). Reckons the club is lost either way.
It's all the SANFL's fault.
