TA V NSW O/D Dan Marsh you IDIOT !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Postby mal » Sun Nov 19, 2006 10:45 pm

The game was delayed due to early morning showers.
Ina murky overcast day the captains Katich + Marsh came out to toss.
Every NSW/TAS supporter would have been nervous waiting for the toss.
They toss Marsh wins the toss and and and BATS !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
YOU IDIOT
Most sides that bat first invariably lose these early day starts.
The pitch is at its most venemous, the ball swings prodigiously at times.
TAS all out 166
NSW 3/167 win with 94 balls to spare :!:

How can you bat first :?:
Bracken would be in the top 3 o/d bowlers in the world in those conditions.
Bollinger a good meduim fast bowler was unplayable at times.
Tim Paine a star opening batsman made 1 of about 11 balls.
In the first 2 overs he could not get bat to ball to about 7 deliveries.
Even Henriques[Pete Sampras look alike] looked menacing at his 125kms.

After 7 overs
TAS 1/14
NSW 1/60

Jaques 75 0f 57 balls[man of the match] was awesome equalling Langers
belligerent 50 of 31 balls on Friday putting more pressure on the veteran opener.
His battle with future test player Hilfenhaus was absorbing.
Hilfenhaus reminds me of the 60/70s fast bowler Garth Mckenzie.
Hilfenhaus like Mckenzie is all shoulder, he bowls at 140+ and has a dangerous bouncer.
By the time NSW batted the track was much easier to bat on as I saw it, if you
think I know F..k all about cricket, well Alan Border re-iterated my comment on fox sports.
Haddin 42[43] is probably the 2nd best batting keeper in the world[as good as
Boucher + Sangakarra] hits the ball so sweetly, fantastic talent.

Macgill did not play broken nose on Saturday at practice
Bevan pulled a hammy in this game as well.

As for Marsh I wont call him an Idiot again, I will just say he made one of the biggest blunders
in o/d cricketing history.

PS When a bowler bowls a no ball, the batsmen gets a free hit.
what happens if the free hit ball is also a no ball :?:

Did seem an odd decision by Marsh Mal.

Does anyone know the situation of Aaron Bird well enough to say how different his action is now compared to what it was like when he was being left out of the NSW side for supposed problems with his action?

Who would be the 2 better?

Don't underestimate Henriques. He will be a star.

No way Haddin is even close to Sangakarra. Perhaps close to Boucher but not Kumar.

A broken nose and he couldn't play? And before you ask, yes i've broken my nose before and yes i could have played cricket the next day.

R/ROOSTER

BRACKEN was rated in the top 10 o/d bowlers in the world ratings.
On docile pitches he does well
On pitches that swing and seam he is close to the best around.
He averages in the low 2o's

Haddin would be equal 3rd best BATTING keeper logically,

GILCHRIST
SANGAKARRA
HADDIN/BOUCHER

I was making my initial assumption on that if he replaced Gilly he would be
about 2nd best.

Haddin has a strike rate in o/d cricket at nearly 80 in about 20 games.?

Henriques, too early to tell, he looks a bits and pieces allrounder at this stage.

Macgill, well a broken nose is a fair excuse to miss a game.

ROD whats your views on Marshy batting first on a bowlers pitch ?

I don't disagree with you on Bracken. In fact i want to know who would be the 2 guys you think would be better than him in those conditions?

Haddin is a great cricketer but not in Sangakara's class. Boucher maybe so i think we agree on this too.

Henriques, well we will have to agree to disagree here. He will be a hell of a lot closer to being the next Keith Miller than Watson ever will be

As for a broken nose stopping you playing, well i've personally played with broken fingers and i know of many wicket keepers who have done so as well. I'd suspect that would be more of a problem than a broken nose. Having said that i am not aware of all the details and he well may be suffering a concussion or some other complication so i shouldn't judge.

All in all only Henriques we disagree on after all that

As for Marsh batting first, well the result tells the story i think. I've always worked on the theory that you win the toss and bat first. If you're not sure think about it then bat first. In this case throw my theory out the window

ROD
your bat first philosophy is spot on in
test matches
pura cup games
some o/d games

BUT not o/d games that start in the mornings.

As for Henriques being closer to Miller than Watson, only
if they one day bury Henriques in a grave near him.

As i said with my bat first philosophy

As for Henriques we obviously won't agree but each to their own. Anyway he's every chance of having a career record closer to Miller as Watson would have to stop breaking down and unfortunately for him that appears to be the only thing he is good at.

Luckily for the Blues they didn't win the toss because Katich wanted to bat first as well. BTW mally, HONREEEKS is 19 years of age so your Crystal Ball must be working beautifully today. The Redbacks would be prepared to do all sorts of disgusting things to have a kid as talented as Moises turning out for them.
