hmmm its hard tho i personally think it was a penalty but alot dont so.....
Yeah. I've just seen it for the first time. It was a tough call. The ref did take a while to make his decision. As the commentator said, he didn't quite get enough of the ball.

All i can say is goodluck to Tottenham in the replay at the fortress that is Elland Road :)
Sorry Pidge, but how can it be a penalty it he 'didn't quite get enough of the ball'?

If a defender gets even a bees dick of a touch on the ball, it can't be a penalty. Dawson clearly touched the ball and it wasn't a pen. No chance.

Aside from that, Spurs had their chances and fooked it up. WHY, WHY, WHY is Defoe taking penalties? SERIOUSLY, WHY!!!!!

Thank heaven the replay is taking place on Feb 2 when Beckford will be at the Geordies.
DA Usually agree with most things you say on here but Dawson went through beckford to win the ball, he clearly made contact with the player before he got his slight touch on the ball. Was a tough call for the ref but I think he got it correct.

whos doing the draws in the comp.

If we had have beaten stoke, we would have played our 3RD away game in a row against Man City. Surely thats not fair?? Also leeds is in the same boat. if they beat tottenham then they will play there 3rd away game in a row. they have the second leg at home but if they had have won against the spuds at white heart then they would be playing 3 games away in a row. Its just not fair on some teams.

surely when theey do the draw they must look at whos played at home and whos played away etc.??

RM is spot on. all the teams are put in the hat and drawn out one by one.

1st ball out is home team, 2nd ball out is away team
3rd ball out is home team v 4th ball out is away team
etc

It's the luck of the draw mate.

It doesn't look good for us. Kisnorbo may not play and he's awesome in defence, especially against the bigger teams. Kilkenny might not play either, but i don't like him at all. Then again, Tottenham have to deal with Jermaine Beckford, who is a superstar. I'm going to tip us to win 1-0 (Beckford)

Half Time Leeds - Spurs 1 all.
Tottenham have looked the stronger so far with Defoe scoring the first although he should have had three. Leeds defence is lacking some serious pace as well as Patty Kisnorbo and if it wasn't for keeper Angkergren, Tottenham would have had two or three on the board. A first half injury time equaliser to Becchio contraversally levelled the scores as it looked as though it may have been offside. Best for leeds so far: Ankergren has been brilliant, and Snodgrass has looked dangerous down the right hand side. Beckford is also looking like he is a good chance to score again.

Anyway, I hope the Leeds can do it, but I am going to have to wait until tonight to watch the replay as I am off to work. Spewin!! C'mon you Whites.

They won 3-1. Although the last goal was in stoppage time as all the Leeds players went forward in search of an equaliser.

Tottenham dominated the first half and should have scored 3 or 4 times. Ankergren was again outstanding again (and to think he's our number two  ). Becchio had a really good game too, probably the first time i've seen him play real well. Beckford was VERY quiet. I don't think he even had a shot on goal from memory. 2-1 was probably a deserved scoreline as we could definitely hold our own, but Tottenham had too many players that were quicker and more threatening.

Our best were probably; Ankergren, Becchio, Michalik and Snodgrass.

Nice work Fish, unfortunatley your prediction became reality. Hope you got on it. Was paying $15 on the TAB for a 3-1 scoreline.

Dissapointing result for Leeds but Tottenham thoroughly deserved the win. I am stoked we were able to knock out Man Utd though. At least now Leeds can concentrate on promotion!

Thanks fuzz (and RM). Didn't place a bet but it would have been nice to put a lazy $1,000 on the 3-1 win at $15! :D

Up the Yids. Great effort by Leeds. They were brilliant in the cup this year. They're showing a lot more than plenty of CCC sides at the minute. They'll be back in the top flight before we know it.

That was one of Spurs better performance for the year, particularly in the second half. Devid Bentley showed why we forked out such a silly amount of money for him and Gareth Bale continues to show signs that he will be world class and no doubt sold to Man Citeh for 30m plus eventually
