Like all spots that are "expert" positions I would guess he would be on 6 figures at very least. Probably with a 2 at the front.
If you want to go quickly, go alone.

If you want to go far, go together.

I remember meeting him once. Really liked the smell of freshly cut lawn.

No way. I highly doubt he'd be much over $100k.

The only SACA employee on $200k plus would be the CEO.

Les Burdett would be easily on over 100k...you gotta think that all the hours that go into preparing a cricket wicket and just all his office work etc that he would have to do. He has to be there overseeing his ground staff during all cricket matches.

Maybe now we'll get a decent test wicket with a bit in it for bowlers and batters. ;)

I did say he would be over $100k, just not by much and certainly not even close to $200k. Yes he looks after ground staff on match days. Yes he probably does some office work and prepares some great batting wickets.

However, none of the tasks described above are worthy of a $200k or close to salary.

Meeting him isn't but the next sentence is a bit odd.

He is a South Australian ICON.

Whats more important on the news?
Another broken promise from a politician?
Another car accident?
Another high speed car chase?
Gang of 49 have just notched up their 10,000th crime ?
SA to get another 100 litres of water down the Murray from NSW ?
Todd Gaudy's ridiculous surf report ?
Another politician breaking a promise?

I think Les Burdetts retirement means a lot more to most people than any of those other stories which just repeat themselves over and over every day FFS. ;)
