Prime Ministers XI v West Indies

Postby Brucetiki » Thu Feb 04, 2010 11:44 am

PM's XI won the toss and elected to bowl.

I think they're now regretting that decision

WI - 0/193 (23.4 overs)
Gayle 123 (74)
Dowlin 53 (67)

Pattinson 0/51 (6)
Holland 0/38 (6.4)

And now for the ugly
Geroge 0/58 (4)
They don't keep me here because I'm gorgeous and 5'10

George had two catches dropped by bloody Vics though. Gayle was the batsman both times.

Windies finish with an awesome 5/399 (from 45 overs after rain delays) with a RR of 8.86.

Some of the PM XI's bowlers may not be the same again

So the Windies end up on 5/399 after 45 overs (if they had their full 50, I reckon that would have been close to 450!)

Gayle 146 (89) - 14 fours and 8 sixes -104 runs off boundaries!
Simmons 70* (49)
Pollard 36 (17)

Keath 4/71 (7)
Oakley 1/56 (9)
George 0/74 (6)

That is incredible, off only 45 overs as well!

Keath was the pick of the bowlers despite going for 10 an over.

Good to see Cooper finding some form again he is currently 83 off 78 and we are 4/179 off 30. Going at 6 per over isn't too bad i guess but when you need nearly 16 runs per over with 15 overs left you ain't much chance.

20/20 form was poor by his standards, this season
But his 50 over form for the last 2 years is very good

When it comes to natural ability, he of all the SA batsman has the most[after Fergy]
That includes my main man Maxie Klinger

I think today has just proven why George isn't in the redbacks one day side at the moment.
