"We Are The World" re-recorded for Haiti appeal

Postby CK » Wed Feb 03, 2010 2:16 pm

Many of today's bigger musical names have combined to re-record the 1985 charity single, "We Are The World" to support the Haiti Earthquake Appeal.

Among these are Pink, Tony Bennett, Kanye West, Celine Dion and Natalie Cole.

What?! RICH rock stars asking non-rich people to donate to charity?
YOU FIRST, you pretentious, over-paid ego maniacs.
If one person does it, it's insanity. If millions do it, it's religion.

But at least originally it was such a wonderfully ironic song...Do They Know It's Christmas?...errrr actually no they don't, they're mostly Orthodox and don't celebrate Christmas until Jan 6  ;)

The line I find most ironic in that song is 'And there won't be snow in Africa this Christmas time?' Um - does it EVER snow in Africa at Christmas time? Gets a good laugh from some of my African mates though!

"Look at MEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE I'm recording a song, aren't I generous MEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE"

Thought pattern of most recording the song.

Brian Johnson speaks well of some mixing charity work with their musical profession (as per Adelaidenow)

If Celine Dion would STFU I'd find that to be most charitable.

As the snow is pretty reliable from January until late March or April in Morocco surely it would have snowed in Africa at some point?
