ill keep it brief...
despite being approached by the senior mens players and having the full support of the mens players the commitee has decided to vote against my application of mens senior coach. I guess over 500 games as a player, coach and ref not to mention an undefeated 3 in a row at nationals along with 20 years service to the association is easy to look past. I am currently employed (PAID) in roles with the AFL/SANFL,SAAFL,Payneham Norwood Union FC and Rec and Sport. Volantary work for Gaelic Association whilst such poor leaders are running our game is not something i will be keen to persue in the near future. Perhaps you could put a little more effort into your attendance as commitee members.

It needs to be fixed fast. We don't want ref's who are tired, inexperienced or just plain inappropriate refereeing games leading up to finals.

It's times like these that the slack arse clubs who don't provide refs are really noticable.

On that point, I wonder if W.Ireland are now going to claim they have provided a ref for men's games this season (Jules last week). Wouldn't it be ironic if they did use that point? The irony? Jules showed more balls last week in refereeing than all those "Mountain Goats" who won't do it.

I think I saw a Ref's roster next to a pile of rocking horse pooh at Gumeracha on the way to work this morning.

Irish Australians 3-12 Mitcham 0-8

Thanks for the tactical blue print 'O Neils Only'..worked beautifully

Great to see Barta, Toastie, Watto and Doeckes back

Great to see Carey realising the importance of first year teachers staying home and doing some lesson prep

We are now on the outskirts of the road that potentially could lead us back into the town before the one that is the sister city of the one that we need to be back into to be considered back in town....for the next week anyway

Big turnup in the womens to with the Rovers over the Blues

Thank god.... one win and we are still fourth! Id have to agree with Wristy with Onkas and St Brendans being the form sides. IMO the two best we have played this season.

Im hoping we can sneak into fourth and bring back our guns for the finals and maybe cause an upset :)

Good win from your lads GR31, i reckon it was good for the comp to see Mitcham knock off Onkas (and then nearly us) a few weeks back - and i think its another good sign to see your boys get a win and post your highest score this year. I suppose the important question is are the above mentioned players gonna stick around for the rest of the season?

Popped in to Gaelic Park for a quiet four beers and to watch the Flinders vs Western Ireland game - Neville i thought your boys looked pretty solid early on, but probably needed to make more of a couple of early goal opportunities. And some more players would have been handy! Just wondering tho: where do all your players actually go after Chrissy? Is it they dont want to play, or cant play due to other soccer-ish commitments etc? And if so - is it soccer trainings or games that clash with Gaelic?

I see the Round 4 scores are on the website, and the Gaelic7s semi-finals are on Wednesday night!

I heard a rumour last night that the human wrecking ball Jed "Cheddar" Pfeieffer will be making a comeback this week. Thats bad news for potential opponents and even worse news for a few other people. Just remember not to cut the cheese people...

Haha its a constant struggle, Sundays are full of frantic phone calls trying to get people out to play. Lucky im on a cap or id be broke by now! Jed was supposed to play on Sunday but apparently forgot the game was on.....

Most of our soccer players play super league which is equivalent to sanfl in footy talk. Most teams train at least 3 times a week plus trial matches on the weekends and often pressure is put on them by their respective coaches for them not to play and in turn risk injury. We have also had a couple of players with serious injuries and a couple in Bali.

I believe we may have a few back this week but ive said that for the past three weeks and we've had 4 or 5 pull out on match day so i guess time will tell! If we can sneak into the finals then we will most probably be pretty much full strength but getting there is going to be the hard part!

so wristy u writing the goats off, to even make a GF.

Taints are looking very strong and the favourites would have to be Onkas. NA Fiana would also be around the mark once the get rid of the 153 player in the comp. haha

Linc has had to go under the knife so will be a big loss for the rest of the season for the Taints. I know there other Full Forward from last year gets the plate taken out next week....perhaps they can qualify him and rush him back for finals....

Well Schimma, it looks to me like the Goats will be butting heads with Onkas in the Betty semis. Onkas seem to have your number but stranger things have happened. That loss of a point for not having a ref may cost you a GF spot unless Dave "Miami Vice" Floreani is able to somehow wave his magical political wand over the situation and prevent the point being lost. I think in the Hannigan Cup the loss of the point is most definently going to effect both W.I and FON teams adversly.
Having said all that i think come semi finals the club that can get closest to their strongest team to St Marys and fit and ready is the one that will get the chocolates. Its an open market with no certainties.
Finally, sorry to hear about the injury to Lincoln "Stinky" Rodgers. A top bloke and good footballer who was showing good form in the games i reffed him in. Will be a big loss for the Taints come finals. I wish him all the best with a speedy recovery.

WI V St Brendans - Two evenly matched sides, match of the round. St Brendans 1-5
Na Fianna v Irish - May be a little closer than expected after Irish Australian win on the weekend. Still think Na Fianna will be too strong 1-5
Flinders v Mitcham - Mitcham will be looking to bounce back after a bad loss, Flinders to have a couple of players back. Should just be enough. Flinders 1-5

Some tight games this week. Could go either way in all three games. Bottom 4 sides all playing each other to stay in the finals race

The semi's of the gaelic 7's were on last night. The first game was a bit of a pantsing with onkas winning comfortably. The second between West Ireland and St Brendans was a great game to watch. Played more like traditional gaelic rather then this "rock & Roll" version of the game. Only thing questionable was the scoring. Officially the umpire has it as W.I ireland winning by 7 points but this is VERY debateable.

Nevertheless it will be WI vs Onkas next wednesday night. Led to believe there is a bit of tension between the 2 squads so could be an entertaining affair.
