I think alot of Plymptons ultimate success will hinge on taking the load off Smith and having more avenues to goal

Yeah ,I was very politely asked to stop talking Jimmy up at the end of last year, they said he was doing fine until I jumped on the bandwagon and then he went missing

Yes - but did tend to go missing at times as I said.

Luckily, the same effects didn't show with Wonderboy ;)

Just my view that every player in every side should go into a season aiming for top spot.
Seems silly to me that any side would say they'd be happy with anything but a GF :-\

I guess im a half glass full kinda guy :-?

Duncs i would love to get on here and say we will finish top and win the grand final by 10 goals. However if i do say that blokes get on here and say how full of myself i am and how we are ****. Just trying to be unbias (as i can be as an A grade player at brahma lodge). Imagine the **** i cop if i put us top. Just not worth it.

Mate no one worth his salt on here will knock ya for backing ur side in for a promotion this year. Be confident son, stuff the knockers. lol. all the best for the season, personally lookin forward to playing on ur ground again. Its my bunny ground. kicked 5 last 2x iv played there, one game from the back pocket :p

5 goals from the back pocket are you sure there

Was 2006, when we used to pump Brahmas B grade by 30 odd goals a game hehe. It was actually 5.5 (Was moved to full forward in last quarter and then proceeded to miss 3 easy goals right in front Mick Richard had me back in the back pocket b4 the siren lol

And yes greenie, while u were sucking back tinnies of West End Draught i was actually playing that year ;) We lost Elim final at brahma Lodge to Hectorville that year when we were favourites to win x_x

Ingle Farm 18 0 0 18 581 3406 0 14.6%

So this is last years ladder.

2 teams come up in brahma lodge and Hectoville. History will tell you that 1 team will play finals and the other will either be relegated or finish 7th - 8th. Hopefully for brahma sake we make finals.
2 teams have come down. Adelaide Lutheran and North Haven. Would expect both teams to be very strong and fight for a finals place, if not top 3. I am lead to believe the drop between div 4 abd 5 is decent enough. Both teams would be hoping to go straight back up or at a minimum play finals.
Ok this leaves the last 6 teams:
Smithfield: Have a new coach, some big recruits that will all take positions in the spine for them. Thats very handy and are better positioned to have a real crack at the top 3 this year.
Elizabeth: Like smithfield have really recruited on a needs basis. Will have the best big man in the comp and some very classy onballers. Another side that right now would fancy themselves as top 3.
Hope Valley: Team promoted in 2009 and a good consolidating year. Would hope the playing list developes another 5% and they play finals football. I imagine they will be there or there abouts in september.
Blackfriars OS: Here is a college team that really has gone from strength to strength in the last few years. While they could lose some important players, i really believe will improve again and have a massive say in finals footy.
Rosewater: A side you never heard a hell of alot about but always manage to give you a hard physical game of football. Don't kow what santa has delivered or taken away from the club in the off season but a club i am never game to pick against or think wont be right in the mix. A team that always manages to get the job done.
Plympton: You would think are the yard stick and team everybody is wanting to beat. Have done it all but win that final game to get them promoted and do not and will not be far from that mark again.

OK so it looks like i have given every team a good wrap there. Well i would think in div 5 this year every team training right now would expect to play finals footy. 5 teams will be mystified in october at how they are not in div 4 next year. 3 teams will think this is the year that slipped away and 2 teams will be very proud of their efforts(one will be pissed at losing the big dance). So after all that here is my crack at how the ladder will play out after round 18, 2010:

Plympton
-------------- Gap
Blackfriars
Adelaide Lutheran
----------------Gap
Brahma Lodge
Elizabeth
Smithfield
Rosewater
Hope valley
-------------Gap (not that big msybe 2 games, will reach 10 points the teams below)
Hectorville
North Haven

That should upset a few

Looks like you put a a lot of work into it, you have to much time of your hands. We all have our opinions on it and we all want our team to do well. That's why it is hard to do a ladder because you have to put someone down the bottom.I believe it will be a very close grade and it could come down to who ever gets the most injuries. The clubs who have a strong "B" grade will do well!

I think LM will be able to confirm, but Smithfield either train Wednesday for cricket and Tuesday Thursday for footy, or other way around. Makes a heap more sense to me. Then I could get my fat a**e out there for training 2 nights a week instead of 1.

Na mate, cricket is on Thursday night, footy is on Tuesday and Thursday. We don't have a lot of players do both so it's no big deal.

I would say we would have around 20 who do both but not all play cricket at The Lodge probably about 6 or 7 play elsewhere - is a problem with our training numbers

It has also been reported that Brendan Donnelly (ex Eastern Park) will be suiting up for the Elizabeth Eagles... his inclusion would just about give them favoritism for the flag one would think...

interesting read. will be an incredibly even year if the last two in div 5 are anything to go by. of the 6 left from last years div 5 comp you could throw a blanket over them in a finish. recruits that stand up will be a key as well as the top 6-8 players in each side staying physically sound. my outsider is smithfield
