Help please!

Downloaded one and it didn't seem right. Downloaded another and it's only a trial version.

What's the best software to convert CD audio files so I can put them on an iPod? Is there a good free one?

I think I have outed myself as an IT imbecile

I thought I had to convert the files to mp3 format? Let's see how this goes anyway

It's real easy.

Open up iTunes and then load a CD ... it does the rest for you!

Actually, before you load a CD, check the import settings ...

edit menu -> preferences -> general ... when you insert a CD

make sure automatically retrieve CD track name from internet is checked

click import settings and set your preferences.

... and that's it.

It will import the tracks into your music library, get the track names and album cover artwork if available.

Apple's native encoder for the iPod is AAC, but you can decode to mp3 if desired.

It all should work fine.

No probs ... luckily that's one thing iTunes does well.

Enjoy the new iPod.
