How can any of you find humour in this? You really would like to see the Magpies die,would you?

I cant believe the attitude of some posters, who I respect, towards this situation.

I totally agree with these comments.

I have hated Port with a passion for nearly 40 years, lived through those events that spawned the Crows, saw my club nearly disappear before my eyes, longed for the good old days (60's, 70's & 80's) in the SANFL, but obviously have come out of that much less bitter and resentful than some.

I also applaud Booney and others like No Mercy for being passonate about their club ... I would do no less in their situation.

Whilst it is Port on the canvas at the moment, it could quite easily be any other club in the not too distant future.

The SANFL will survive for a very long time if the clubs stick together. Continue 20 year old grudges and it's survival will be in peril.

If I will be derided for these comments then so be it.

Well said Dedj, thats along the lines of my thinking ... 20 year grudges are fine to hold, but sort them out on the field not off if possible.

I'm showing much less humour for the situation than a lot of Port fans did in 2003 when North were on the ropes.
I'm still remembering a few "at least we'll still have a club next year" comments at Port/North games and I remember their faces too.
I won't sink to their level though and wish them good luck but Round 23 may be interesting.

I dont recall much sympathy for Sturt in the mid 90s from any Port fans. They're lucky to have gotten any themselves now that the boot is on the other foot.

if it is announced beforehand that round 23 is going to be ports last game, then i'd be suggesting it'll be the biggest crowd for decades & they'll need to get ticketek involved to pre-sell the game & perhaps move it to footy park & if it was a 'stand alone game' they would sell out the stadium there as well for numerous reasons with the obvious ones being both sets of supPORTers, & the rest of us looking at history going down the drain whether they be sad, morbid or happy feelings will be up to the individual


to raise money in the meantime why don't port legends have sportsmasn days/nights all over the state, i'm sure the faithful & even those not so faithful would go & listen to the eberts, motleys, hodges & ginevers etc etc
