with respect to the current big blokes running around in the RFL, the Riverland probably hasn't seen a genuine dominant ruckman in recent seasons which makes Berri's new recruit a very good one if the big wraps are correct. Berri contenders in 2010??

Most teams wouldn't have minded Nathan Farr in their side last couple of years although the Berri lad does look a big unit and will give all sides something to think about if size means anything.

and if i read correctly playing for the love of it... just wants a premiership like all the blokes who played for renmark last year!!!
must only be on $1k a game if he could have got $25-$35k playing elsewhere???

Renmark only paid 3 blokes last year - FACT. A couple of others got petrol money but had at least 3 in the car. Who cares what someone is getting paid anyway if the clubs can afford it and are happy to spend - go for it.

I also believe Renmark used other methods of payment, such as car repairs etc. Not a bad strategy at all really. I am also of the understanding Loxton North are going to fork out some cash and some similar services to some players this year.

He'd have to be pretty handy you'd think, being an All Australian country ruckman and only 21. He's also a very handy forward when resting. He is 201 cm's, built like a man mountain and one of the biggest blokes I have ever seen. He is a massive unit.

I can guarantee you that $1k a game is not even close boys. This guy is coming here for the right reasons. If he was chasing cash there are about 20 other clubs he would have been at before ours.
Don't be scared. Now is not the time!

550 not in Ball Park???
reckon it may be very close!
Goodluck if you got the money to spend, spend it!
If they can attract that money good on the players too.
But with that money comes the pressure of getting a few kicks just hope they dont have few bad ones between them.

Just like Berri employ their players at the Berri Hotel. Method of payment is a non issue as we dont have a salary cap. How someone gets paid is irrelevant if you ask me.

Working at the hotel has nothing to do with getting paid for football. That is just a job that the hotel provides. You still have to work for your wage. That can't be considered a payment.

a few disagreements at the rfl meeting the other night...

is it time that they separated the rfl and indy's at these meetings as surely some of things proposed and voted on don't concern or affect both leagues??

ie: it may be feasible to have 4 on the bench in the rfl which may not suit the indy's but everyone votes and therefore has a say on what happens in each others league!!

As far as I'm aware, only the RFL clubs voted on that issue.

Indys already have four on the bench.

that was only an example, i think there are various things discussed that don't concern both leagues but can be determined by an overall vote

i agree with FLM a bit here. at the moment in theory an issue can be voted on that only concerns RIFL clubs they all vote 1 way, RFL clubs for whatever reason vote the other way and RIFL clubs are defeated.
