was also good to hear the boys were led well by cammy lintern. on and off the field. ushering a hand full of GSCA cricketers down to bourmans bakery for a feed after the pub closed. wonder if bryce garrard has removed all the sand from his lovely locks after spending saturday night in the sand dunes? and also heard theres a fair chance chopper will be heading to the chiro at some stage today after leaving the swag behind and sleeping in the leather clad calais sweet.

not sure if there is more to come out of the weekend but im sure it will be put up in the next few days once all the boys wake up from a couple of days sleep

This comment chee quee is the biggest load of crap. Not one McLaren bloke got a phone call to invite them to any squad (not Great Southern or Invitation) so this shit about not wanting to play invitation is crap.

No sour grapes from me mate, i will be the first to admit that i have not had a good enough season to be considered for Meyer Shield however Ben Duncombe is clearly the best spinner in the comp and Bodies results this year speak for themself. And from some of the names i saw selected these 2 boys deserved selection

im told that this was the case. neither deserved a spot in the main side. who would you have dropped from the team?? kuss?? sitting 3rd in the wickets this year. elliot?? only made the team of the year. you couldnt pick duncombe as a bowler as both elliot and bryce have taken more wickets than him as slow bowlers. and bodie hasnt made enough runs to play purely as a bat.

Never faced either of em but Moller kills Duncombe as the best spinner in the comp and looking at the stats on mycricket he's not even in top 5

couldnt have said it better myself, but i dont understand why lishy got the nod over bodie, bodie would have been a great inclusion to the team, but not even asking him or any mclaren players to play invitationals is a joke, they had dalitz and binns i mean theres gotta be a player or two of better cricketing abililty not saying they cant play but id pick bodie over those two or lishy

I think we should just get over it guys, the team was picked by the selectors on who they thought were the best 11 and it was done, just a bit disapointing for no Mclaren representation to be in the side, but I can say that a few of the lads now have a bit of extra motivation to perform this year and for a side that is sitting 3rd on the ladder could be a danger for the other clubs.
I think Moller is probably the best spinner in the comp, but having a look at my cricket I think he only has played a handful of games, but duncombe is hitting some good form so it could have gone either way.
Wilson has had a good year with his standards and sitts in the top 10 of COY standards but is a lousy fielder and is more of an allrounder with the 2nd best average in the comp and I have seen has bowled 50 less overs than Chris butler and Schoefield but is more of a part timer, and hasnt made a good score since 79 against compass gold earlier in the year, but an invitation 11 spot may have been offered.
I think it's not a case of sour grapes from the McLaren fella's, just maybe a phone call might have solved the problems, but im sure all the boys representing GSCA gave it a great go and thats all we can ask for.

Anyway back onto cricket. Im tipping these results this week
Maroons V Districts-Sorry boys bit of bias here, Mclaren by a street, looks like binnsy will play Golds so Mclaren.
Enc Bay V Compass Gold- Compass gold to win for Jake.
Goolwa V Port Elliot- I think Goolwa has the players to beat Port Elliot, but whether half of them will have their minds on cricket is another story.Goolwa to win JUST, Vincent to steady the ship.
Willunga V Aldinga- If Peek gets out early, Aldinga, if not Willunga will win.
Good luck this week lads!!! 8)

my tips this weekend,

Mclaren vs Maroons......Mclaren home and hosed
Ebay vS Golds..... ebay are in good form but golds got something to play for golds up just
Goolwa vs Elliot....being bias elliot to get up spurls with a injury?? elliot just
Willunga vs Dingy...tough one got my money on the garrards and the man himself lishy to dominate this game dingy easy

good luck lads hopefully everyone is out with a arm band and a minute silence before the game would be a honour to him id say!
RIP buddy

I have heard that all games will begin with a minutes silence in respect to the three fallen Compass lads, and that a number of clubs have contacted Mt. Compass to ask permission to wear black arm-bands. A tragedy like this really puts everything into perspective. Whilst we are all proud, passionate cricketers who all love our clubs and aren't afraid to throw a little bit of muck around once in a while, at the end of the day it is just a game and there are so many other things that are far more important in life. The fact that everybody in the association is willing to put aside any petty differences to unite as one and show respect makes me proud to be a part of this league and this great game.

Congratulations to everyone and good luck to all for the weekend.

RIP Jake, Brock & Matt!

i wouldnt call it a hoodoo. some very ordinary decisions put us in a spot of bother after a good start. and just about everything that was in the air found a fielders hands.

was a very emotional day with the minutes silence and a few words from chop. wal tossed the coin and alot of jakes friends and family there also.
