I've just noticed that Centrebet have withdrawn their market for the SA election. When this happens I immediately smell a rat.

Have checked another bookie and they still have their market open.

Possibly a smart lawyer who can see a potential settlement for going away - a non-appearance fee similar the that cyclist's appearance fee..

What she's doing may not help the Libs though...

It's focusing all media attention on the affair. I don't think people will change their votes because Mike Rann has done something which is most likely commonplace in the community.

The Libs need to be creating the headlines regarding the Rann Government's empty promises and inaction on things like:

The Murray - All talk no results. The river, below Lock 1 is as sad as I've ever seen it.

Organised Crime/Bikies - All talk no results. Anti-bikie laws are laughable. What has resulted from them?

Roads - All talk no results. The state of our roads is deplorable (in particular country).

Public Transport - All talk no results. The tram extension is about as beneficial to the population of SA as a case of syphillis.

Mike Rann has certainly benefited from a below par opposition (particularly Kerin and Evans) and his media advisors deserve every cent they're being paid as they've managed him to perfection during his time in government.

I sense that people are starting to wake up and that the tide of public opinion is starting to swing against him and his team of below par performers. Sadly, I don't think it will swing enough for Labor to be turfed out...

I think it was a stunt, probably not driven by just politics, and that Natasha Stott Despoja is not an unbiased commentator but has her own agenda, though she is not unfamiliar with stunts.
