Got a teammate playing for TVCA. They knocked off GS by 20-30 runs apparently. Batting first made about 130, had GS in all sorts of trouble at 8/38, before a 9th wicket addition of about 60 caused a few concerns.
SAFC- 60 years...
StKFC- 58 years..

Congrats to young Kuss on getting the call up, i wonder who pulled out? Any news on who is playing in the Invitation XI. IMO there is a few suspect selections in the Meyer Shield side. Firstly to have no McLaren players is a joke, Bodie "The Man" Wilson, offers a lot more to the side than Serge "Red Jacket" Minot and Rohan "Rohsa" Garrard. There is no doubt Serge has lost a considerable amount of yards over the last few years, and is no faster than a gentle medium pace. This was proven last year on K.I. when he was hit to all parts of the ground.

Have to say that Serge & Bryces little/big brother deserved a spot surely, but how did no Mclarens make it in to the Invitation XI. Surely there would have been 2 or 3 players close to getting the call up, or were there some unavailables. WIW or Mr Teach can one of you enlighten me as i believe both of you have had pretty good seasons so far IMO. Would have to been close for a call up.

Well Done & congrats to all who represented both teams on the weekend. It's something that i would be proud of to get noticed for my contributions during the year, that is if i could actually achieve something during the year

First Well done to the boys I heard they didnt win, but had some good games, and well done to Bruce who made the Team of the Year, good bloke deserves it....
Selection process this year according to most was very poor, I think the league needs a kick in the ass about this. Serge and Rozza definately deseved a go at the meyer so it was good to see them play.

If we are not going to pick the best players from each team and on FORM not reputation we will struggle to Win as we have done for the last few years.

But there is always next year and good luck to the guys this week some great games and all spots in the finals up for grabs!!!!!

firstly on the mclarens selections. im told JI had a kid born a few weeks ago so he was never going to play. and you cant blame him. bodie and dunc's supposedly would play but only in the main side. not invitations. and i dont think any other mclarens blokes would have been anywhere near close. its easy to say pick the best side but when blokes haver a family that has to come first.

was also good to hear the boys were led well by cammy lintern. on and off the field. ushering a hand full of GSCA cricketers down to bourmans bakery for a feed after the pub closed. wonder if bryce garrard has removed all the sand from his lovely locks after spending saturday night in the sand dunes? and also heard theres a fair chance chopper will be heading to the chiro at some stage today after leaving the swag behind and sleeping in the leather clad calais sweet.

not sure if there is more to come out of the weekend but im sure it will be put up in the next few days once all the boys wake up from a couple of days sleep

Just looked on my cricket at the games this week & noticed the top 4 teams play the bottom 4 teams. interesting note that if all top 4 wins will make it very hard to change the ladder from there.
If this was so then Compass, Goolwa & Willunga not playing finals in 2010. Who would have picked that at the start of the year.
Saying that though with outrights and in-form/out-form teams anything could still happen.

hey guys i am a long time reader first time poster but i need to get some things off my chest about things that go on in this league

I think the league is deteriorating not because the committee but because a few people willing to undermine them with back stabbing and off the cuff remarks. If you dont like it get on board pull your finger out and be helpful not a hindrance.

ask yourself why anyone would make themselves unavailable for any representative cricket at all never mind saying if i cant play in a certain team I'm not playing at all, not worth a pinch of ---- if you ask me. deserve to sit out rest of year on side lines with bib and dummy i think.
Host assoc cant even offer a whimper because people wont stick hand up.

people getting on a public forum to embarrass and humiliate an umpire even tho they made a bad mistake, maybe the bowler should work on his run up to action before he criticizes others, no one he is disgruntled about not making Meyer shield, dont want him representing me.

Finally clubs deciding at last minute not to put a grade in and standing firm on the decision have the balls take one for the team like some other clubs have to improve the comp.

lastly happy wanderer have you got some constructive things to offer forum instead of slandering people if not get a volunteer your time to meals on wheels in your area, they need your help.

looking forward too the two dayer's feel better now thanks for reading.

Or you could go through the normal channels and put umpires feedback on the teamsheet or mention it next association meeting.
