50 over cricket dying?
Certainly didn't have me glued to the screen. Flicked back every 5 or so mins for a score update, or flicked off any time Clarke was on strike.
Give me a T20 anyday over watching him bat...

Under the circumstances I thought Clarke played an excellent ininings
The tap and run tactic looks boring, but its also a smart way to bat thru the middle overs
Nothing wrong with the way Clarke played
He is not a big basher and thats the way he should play
It would have been more interesting if the unimaginative PA skipper plugged a few gaps and tried to make Clarke bat with a lot more impetuosisty
Putting too many blokes on the fence = batsman will pick up more 1s and 2s

Cant blame Catchcry for thinking it was boring at times
As for me
I just like watching all 3 forms of the cricket
Different skills are on display

Yeah good point. At the end of the day he helped the side win.
It just looks so easy. Pushing it around for 20 overs doesn't appear to take any skill. In fact the best chance for 2's is off mis-hits!

Afridi came on to bowl, with the whole legside field on the fence
The commentator said something like
""They will get the required run rate in singles with this field."
The spinners both had deplorable field settings
Clarke and White just played a game of tippy go
The runs accumilated without too many risks

I think there are people from the planet Venus that could have captained with some form of intelligence

You start with guys inside the circle to Clarke to stop the easy runs
You keep the pressure on
If Clarke is good enough to hit over the top, sobiet
Then push fileders back if this plan fails
But then again perhaps the skipper probably felt that 274 was too sMAL a target to defend.....

Also another point aboput unimaginative first class cricket captains
And I see this sometimes
The field for both batsman in games are identical
I couldnt see the placements for White and Clarke[no doubt the same field ?]
But I would have
3 on the fence for Clarke
4 on the fence for White

Clarke singes the grass in the inner field
White aims for spectators

3 YOUSEF
2 WHITE
1 WATSON

All 3 were magnificent when AU was in trouble
Watson bowled well to restrict PA getting to 300
White batted AU to victory after AU were struggling
Yousef MOTM was superb, his allowing AU to score the easiest mid innings runs warrants MOTM award

Well, lets make the most of it while we can

Pakistan will have a new captain after their tour of Australia comes to an end in early February, Ijaz Butt, the PCB chairman, has said. Mohammad Yousuf was appointed to lead in New Zealand and Australia after Younis Khan quit in a huff back in November.

"This captain [Mohammad Yousuf] was for this series only and we will decide after the tour of Australia about the captain, [but] we will change," Butt told the private ARY News channel.
