You're like a politician, in that if you keep saying something over and over you'll eventually believe it's true.

Carr is a hack, three years past his peak and with no emotional ties to Glenelg. He makes Scott Borlace look fast, has a kick on him that even Timmy Weatherald thinks is weak and can be sucked in by anyone.

I hope to god he's picked in round one as it means we're two goals to the good before the game starts.

You seem to have lost a lot of 'depth' players Dutchy. I guess the question is does that make you less able to carry half a dozen injuries to senior team members this year.

Incorrect - he has played a heap of footy for the Bays, esp before he made it at AFL level, wouldnt suprise at all if he keeps playing for us once his AFL days are over

Are you still p!ssed at the two frees he milked/conned in the last quarter against your mob at the Bay on August 1 last year that led to two goals from his centre clearances and enabled us to escape with a 10 pt win...
Let that be a lesson to you Port, no one beats the Bays five times in a row in a GF and gets away with it!!!

He's a poor man's Gowans and you're welcome to him.

And you can send him an SMS and tell him so.

Thats a good point in addition to Blocky the "depth players" we've lost (played league last year) are Duldig, Liebelt, McConnell, Holmes and Hinge. However, these can be covered by other players with League experience: Clayfield, C Kane, O'Grady (BOG in reserves GF), Lally, R Plant and Fosdike who also didn't play in the Preliminary final. Not too mention the up and comers like Hitchcock, McGinty, Pekin and S Snook. We will have a solid squad of at least 30 pushing for league selection.

Whilst it has been confirmed for a while now, here's a Messenger piece on Cupido leaving West and heading home to Victoria...

Jai Bednall @ Messenger Community News wrote:
Cupido’s SANFL career over

GONE: Damian Cupido has ended his 72-game SANFL career.

DAMIAN Cupido’s troubled SANFL career is over.

The recovering gambling addict has moved back to Victoria and will not return to play for West Adelaide this season.

In a prepared statement, Bloods football operations manager Scott Turner said Cupido’s return to Victoria was in the best interest of both parties.

``We are sad to see Damian go, and wish him all the best for his future,’’ Turner said.

``In his time with the club Damian has been a fine contributor including finishing second in the 2008 Steve Hamra Medal (Best and Fairest).

``However it is important that Damian gets all aspects of his life on track and the best way to do this is to have his family around.’’

Cupido was sent home to Victoria in August last year after admitting a gambling addiction that at its peak was costing him more than $1000 week.

He returned to Adelaide later in the year to play cricket for Stirling and was told to maintain his fitness and report back to Richmond in February.

But Cupido has opted against continuing his 72-game SANFL career which stretched across four seasons at South Adelaide and West.

Messenger Community News spoke to Cupido briefly earlier this week, where he revealed he was already back living in Melbourne, but has been unable to reach him again since.

Cupido played 14 games last season, kicking nine goals.

Serious? he's a gun at SANFL level and will be very important to us in 2010, can't wait to see what happens when we play Centrals with him in the side, will be great to watch.

But that all means jack sh*t when you fail to kick a higher score than the opposition!

Like your forwards when kicking for goal???

Glenelg flukes the occasional premiership?!?

But seriously, i reckon Glenelgs season this year will be exactly like Norwoods season last year...lots of hype, the odd big recruit...Glenelg won't finish in the top 3...you can quote me on that!

Your comments are ridiculous. I am confident you do not know Josh Carr, that you have not seen his passion and commitment to the GFC and have not a clue of what he adds to our side. They are either said to be inflammatory or you have been misinformed.

You clearly were not at the Bay on a sat arvo on 3 or 4 occasions when Josh traveled with Freo for a Sunday game, had no "club tie" with the GFC and would stand in front of the members stand with his mates watching us play. You clearly do not know the lengths he went to to play finals footy for us in 09 when severely damaging an ankle that needed surgery yet delayed it in a race against time to be fit. He broke down the week before the 1st final and then required surgery he could have had 6 weeks earlier.

Obviously the NFC has been bitten by a lack of club commitment by your AFL contingent to make such a inane comment about a situation you clearly know J.S about.

Josh's intensity, passion and desire to play for the GFC when dropped exceeds my expectations everytime it happens.

But in saying that I do believe that any thoughts that Josh will play the majority of his footy with Glenelg this season are a bit of the mark. He has no intention of playing any games with the Tiges. His sole focus is on his role with Port Power.
