you know..with the way they have started the last 3 years..like bats out of hell..might not be bad thing to not peak in April May June..and build something..have some losses early rather than at the business end..and then realise that nobody gives you anything in football..you have to take it

try to do a ladder for this division..its damn near impossible..kenilworth will be high up there with their "recruits" and a dozen kids from the u18's moving into seniors..i expect farmers to bounce back strong in a division they do well in historically..tossers will be strong..lockleys will be strong..WC has recruited well and will do damage..houghton has recruited well..MP are always tough to beat no matter where they are..clgfc will be a round the mark..henley unknown..and paralowie will be vey keen to do well back in a division they should be in..nightmare for tipsters

couldnt agree more zedman picking a ladder for season 2010 is impossible thats for sure in this div all 10 sides have claims at why they and how they can win it. could well be a comp where every game every week will be a dead set toss of the coin.

but this being said if i had to pick a stand out it would be hard to go past the tossers wouldnt it?
IMO they were the best side in 2009 but didnt make the big dance
you've gota keep on keep'n on .........

its football clubs..they are forever changing personel..everyone comes from somewhere and i would say not one team in 2010 will claim they have the same players as they had in 2008..thats how it rolls..harvey will be a loss for them no doubt but what did he give them in the finals series? i saw the games..did you?

Yea i was at the final against Heccies they played at home. Im sure every team in the comp is actively recruiting and there are a handful of teams that if they kept the same squad and added 3 -4 quality players that would make them genuine chances in 2010. All i was sayin is that with Harvey and ruckman gone and rumours of Dalby going ??? not sure of any truth in that but if so they would wanna be picking up some handy recruits to cover 150 + goals.

There are always stories this time year with players leaving / coming from all clubs but its pretty hard to judge till they run out round one

no offence or disrespect to their new coach but clg had the chance to start the rebirth of an exciting new era for the club.several club big wigs wanted to go down this path but were out voted and went within.was told that they didnt need to do to much more to go that next step.
that is why imo they will start a slide down the ladder.
hope not but if some people down their pulled their heads out of the sand and got the club playing a different brand of football they might now be up a division.
just on harvey,i feel sorry for this bloke.everyone keeps saying more than one player makes a team yet he is the first one getting canned when things dont go right.
he carried an injury most of the year that would keep the majority of soft cocks bagging him oin the sidelines.

Not sure mate, I wasn’t on the selection committee and have been away for a month or so. Perhaps deeman is on the money - we would definitely want someone who is on board for all games and trainings.

Nonetheless everyone is pretty excited to have Colin at the club. He comes from perhaps the most successful Amatuer club in South Australia with fresh ideas and opinions. With you blokes and CLG in our divsion this year I can't remember the last time I looked forward to a season as much as in 2010.

Mitchell Park will be starting our pre-season on the 28th of Jan.
good to see your going around again mate.with a few new faces a bit of luck and the right self belief i believe the lions can go along way.
the one thing their got going for them is the fact outsiders dont know the club or what they are about and if teams dont show them the respect they deserve they will be in for long, hard and tough afternoons.all the best to you and the boys

CLG i think have had 3 coaches in four years ...B grade went top and were a good side but a B grade team with B grade players ..Rumour has it all is not rosy at clg ,westminster, hope valley heccies all progress up clg remain in div 6 despite spending spree i guess some clubs are happy to stay at that level are clg one of those clubs, time will tell but harvey aposto and four others are big losses and will hit them hard

If memory serves me correct clg gone out last two years straight sets ,someone has to ask some serious questions .Best thing harvey can do is leave and get a fresh start .

Thanks mate, due to dropping all the off field commitments I made last year I am, shockingly, determined to complete a full pre-season! First time I have ever done one so I am looking forward to my body being able to hold up to the rigours of senior football a little better than previous years.

I agree with your sentiments on the club, I have gone on ad infinitum on this very forum about our reputation. It's an area we all need to work very diligently on reversing. Hopefully a few blokes can keep their minds on the football this year, if they do The Lions really are capable of anything.

Hope to see your mug around the place next year, would be good to catch up...

crichton resigned, he was very busy with work last year and elected to not go on, he is coaching kangarilla in 2010, goodluck to him, snell is still heavily involved at clg and the only reason he isnt senior coach this year is because of his new job which requires plenty of attention, with snell and zweck backing up corey this year i beleive its the strongest coaching panel we have had for years
